MEET: SHANNON KELLETT, L.Ac ☯️

Shannon Kellet is a Licensed Acupuncturist with certification from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and holds a Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Won Institute. Shannon brings her extensive experience into every aspect of her practice, specializing in pain management, women’s health, and fertility.

Shannon’s path towards holistic healing was paved by personal trials. As a dancer, she found herself constantly wrestling with injuries and imbalances that left her in pain, and with more questions than answers. Dissatisfied with the limited solutions offered by Western medicine, Shannon took it upon herself to delve deeper into the science of the body and healing.

After receiving her Bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Kinesiology and Science, Shannon embarked on an enriching journey to explore medicine from a more holistic perspective. She attended the Won Institute and later journeyed to Iksan, South Korea, immersing herself in the study of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Her overseas studies unlocked the significant potential of acupuncture and herbal medicine in the recovery process.

Now, Shannon is on a mission to help women at all stages of life, from menstruation to menopause. She wishes to share her knowledge and personal experience, empowering others to explore the incredible healing potential of nature.

Common causes of back pain include muscle strains, disk damage, and health conditions like arthritis, scoliosis, and osteoporosis.

Other factors contributing to back pain can be poor posture, structural problems like ruptured or bulging disks, sciatica, arthritis, unusual spine curvature, osteoporosis, kidney issues, and infections.

Additionally, activities such as lifting improperly, bending awkwardly, or sitting for extended periods can lead to back pain. Lower back pain is often caused by arthritis of the spine due to degeneration of spinal joints and wear and tear with age.

Injuries from falls, accidents, or even everyday activities like carrying heavy loads can also result in lower back pain.
