Lindsay is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator specializing in diabetes, chronic disease and weight management, and prenatal nutrition.

We are excited to announce that registration for the first session of our new "Reclaim Your Health" program is now open!

"Reclaim Your Health" is a comprehensive 12-week program designed for women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who want to improve their health while breaking free from restrictive diets. This program combines the best of both worlds with the in-depth assessment and personalization of 1:1 visits with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and the accountability and support of group sessions. Along with some other great resources like weekly meal plans, access to our meal planning software/ recipe database, and more!

Peanut Butter Apple Baked Oatmeal

Baked oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfasts. I can whip it up quickly on Sunday night and have breakfast ready for days. You can change up the flavors (I’ve also done pumpkin, peanut butter banana, berry, the options are endless…), and it is easy to customize for your preferences/health needs (I decreased the brown sugar and added chia seed for some extra fiber and omega-3s)! Also, if you’re not a fan of the traditional gooey texture of oatmeal this is a great alternative with more of a cake-like texture.

As promised...the answer to yesterday's story!

The correct answer is......

It’s a tie between A and C - the blue corn and regular old corn tortilla chips!

Some of the things that I look at on the label to help decide the "healthier" option are:
✅ more fiber - both of these have 2g compared to none in the multi-grain chips
✅ less sodium (150mg or less is considered a "low sodium" option) - both of these come in at/under 100mg vs 115mg in the multi-grain

**Bonus**
Another great option that I love are these bean tortilla chips - they have 5g of fiber, 85mg of sodium and also 5g of protein to help keep you full!

These are just some examples of how important it is to read labels instead of just relying on marketing catch phrases like “multi-grain” that sound great, but aren’t always the “healthiest” option!

I worked out today, for the first time in several months, and it felt amazing! Between COVID closing down the gyms, pregnancy and postpartum exhaustion, I fell out of my routine and it has been a challenge to get back into it. I used the free Nike Training app, they have tons of workouts from beginner to advanced. I have also found some great workouts on YouTube and Amazon Prime video, and so many local gyms and studios are now offering virtual classes. There are so many options available for working out at home, regardless of your fitness level, now is a great time to try something new!
