Our new movie theater is officially up and running (we’re still working on the wall art!), and these three ladies were the first to try it out! It fits nine people and feels like a true getaway. Sometimes we forget how special the little things really are — something as simple as watching a movie in a dark, quiet room can mean the world to our residents.
At Bride Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, we created a real movie experience: big screen, total darkness, comfy recliners, snacks, and no call bells. And they absolutely loved it. ❤️ They said it felt like pure heaven.

Pumpkin pie and the sweet smell of cinnamon filled the air this afternoon at Bride Brook as we handed out slices of warm, homemade pie and fresh-pressed apple cider to our residents. 🍂🥧

It was the perfect cozy day — a quiet afternoon spent watching movies, sharing stories, and reminiscing about our favorite Thanksgiving foods and family traditions. Laughter, memories, and hearts full of gratitude.

Here’s to simple moments and the comfort of good company as we head into the holiday season. 🧡🍁

National Princess Day was magical at Bride Brook!✨👸
Staff and residents dressed up like princesses, decorated cupcakes and cookies, and had a blast unraveling their mystery Disney princess towels. We even voted on a royal movie — and Princess Diana won! 💕
Such a fun, heartwarming day for everyone! 👑💫

Exciting News from Bride Brook! 🌟

Our little store has officially glowed up! ✨ What started as a small, self-repurposed project—powered by creativity, donations, and a whole lot of heart—has now grown into a beautiful, updated new store we can all be proud of.

Thanks to the support of our residents, staff, families, and community, we were able to raise enough money to transform it into something truly special. The Resident Council is beaming with pride, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it! 💛🛍️

Happy Birthday, Faith! 🎂🎉

We celebrated our beautiful resident Faith — and she got the sweetest birthday photo with her sister Hope! 💕 These two together truly light up the room.

And guess what?!

Our very own Joey, CNA, shares the same birthday as Faith! 🎉💙 Double the celebrations, double the joy!

Wishing them both a day filled with love, laughter, and all the happiness they bring to Bride Brook every single day.

Everyone, meet our newest little family member… Millie Boras! 🐶✨
At just 4½ months old and 11 pounds of pure sweetness, she had a big day—she got all her shots like a brave girl 💉💪 and then went straight to Bride Brook to meet the community. 💕
Millie snuggled, cuddled, and even fell asleep in people’s arms. 🥹💤
Seeing her share so much love (and get even more in return) tells us one thing:
this is the start of something truly special. ❤️🐾

🥒💚 Friday was National Pickle Day! 💚🥒

It was a big dill here at Bride Brook! Residents and staff had an absolute blast celebrating all things PICKLES!

We enjoyed Grillo’s Pickles, tomato pickle juice non-alcoholic Bloody Mary mix that everyone loved. The staff snacked on a delicious pickle dip, while our residents got hands-on and made their own chipped beef ranch pickle-dip dressing — and let me tell you, it was a hit!

Of course, no Pickle Day is complete without a classic game of Guess How Many Pickles Are in the Jar?!

Congratulations to Shawn Heard, who guessed 66 and took home the win! 🎉

And we can’t forget one of the fan favorites of the day… Pickle Slim Jims! 🤣💚

The residents revealed their pickle names!!!!

Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun — it was a crunchy, zesty, laughter-filled day at Bride Brook!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes This Veterans Day 🇺🇸

We proudly came together to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication reminded us that freedom isn’t free — it is earned every day by those who wear the uniform.

A heartfelt thank-you to Pastor Gerry for leading us in a moving prayer, and to JT for providing the beautiful patriotic accompaniments as we sang together in unity. We also thank our own Frank Perry for presenting the certificates and veteran hats in recognition of our heroes’ service and sacrifices. A special thank-you to Henry S. for sharing the touching poem “What Is a Veteran,” which reminded us of the deep meaning behind this day.

We extend our gratitude to the New London VFW for joining us and showing unwavering support for their brothers and sisters in the military community.

We remembered, we honored, and we gave thanks.
To all our veterans — we salute you. 🇺🇸

🚴♀️ A Perfect Fall Day at Bride Brook! 🚴♂️
Our residents had an unforgettable experience with the Cycling Without Age program! They enjoyed trishaw rides through the crisp autumn air—smiling, laughing, and sharing stories of bike rides and adventures from years past. 🍂✨

A heartfelt thank-you to Alison and the incredible Cycling Without Age volunteers for filling our day with joy and connection. And special thanks to Suny, our Director of Rehab, and the therapy team for helping transport residents and ensuring every ride was safe and fun. 💛
