Happy Lunar New Year - this year is the Year of the Fire Horse!
The Horse, as a sign, is known for its independence. Rushing forward, it embraces progress and strongly calls for freedom. Horse years are usually a time for taking initiative, being courageous, standing up for your values and beliefs, and taking bold actions. In these years, action and commitment are rewarded greatly.
Because this is a Fire Horse year - and the horses’s primary element is already fire - this year contains double the action and momentum!
2026 will be an excellent year for new beginnings and bold moves. However, we must be careful to maintain a healthy counterbalance to all this Yang Fire energy. Beware of acting without deliberation, rushing without direction or self-awareness.
To put this year into historical perspective: the last Year of the Fire Hourse was in 1966, which marked an escalation of the Vietnam War and, at the same time, an emergence of anti-war efforts worldwide. Seems quite fitting for the current moment!
Dealing with the energy of the Year of the Fire Horse is complex. To successfully thrive in it, clarity, awareness, and direction need to be cultivated. This is the perfect time to go deeper into your meditation practices, pick up some Qi Gong, Tai Chi, or any other form of interval cultivation.
The energy of Fire Horse does not affect everyone in the same way, as none of us are the same. If you would like to find out how it affects you - give us a call and schedule a consultation and qi gong appointment.
May the energy of the Fire Horse move your passions to action!

Delicious, rich in protein and nutritious: lentil stew with home grown tomatoes and shish*to peppers, herbs and garlic from the garden and organic ground turkey. Can be eaten as is, but I am serving it with buttery quinoa. Perfect autumn meal.

When a Vision became a Plan, and a Plan became a Reality
In my journey towards understanding myself, and finding my true calling, I went from asking myself such questions as: “Why am I here?” “What is my purpose?” “Who am I?” to realizing, that all I ever wanted to do is to help bring people to a place of balance. Whether this is balance in their personal lives, in their professional endeavors, or in management of their health and wellness. While being a willing participant of a busy, intense, stressful life of Silicon Valley, I felt more and more drawn to the helping, healing, supportive aspects of my job as a high tech executive. I started coaching and mentoring other leaders, and at the same time - I was studying various forms of yoga, Qi Gong, and searching for the answers to the same questions: “Who am I, why am I here?”.
It is through this process, that I came to a realization, that I wanted to study Chinese Medicine. It is through becoming sick myself, sick from stress and intensity of my busy corporate carrier, managing family life and raising 3 kids, that I learned how much our life-style choices - how we eat, how we sleep, how we choose to spend time, and most importantly, how we process stress - can impact our health and wellbeing. My journey toward understanding myself, which is impossible to separate from my journey to heal myself, led me to becoming a Chinese Medicine practitioner. My desire to help others, combining all the richness of this beautiful medical framework, led me to my vision of creating The Sage Place.
I met Devin while we were still in grad school. We very quickly grew to liking and understanding each other. I experienced what Devin can do as a massage therapist, and after sharing a lot of classes with her, I knew instantly, that I wanted to work with Devin. She has warmth and compassion that is a must in a healing practice, her understanding of human body is unmatched, and most importantly - she is just as passionate as I am for helping our patients, for creating healing space, for finding solutions to our patients’ wellness needs.
We are fortunate enough to share space with a fantastic chiropractor Deb Mosca, who has been running her practice for over 25 years and not only has a ton of experience, but also has a huge heart.
We are growing every day, we are learning every day, for us - this is not a job, this is a calling, a life’s work, and we are happy to share our knowledge and our passion with our patients.
