Eugenia’s Birth Story

After attending the Childbirth Education class with Katie Howze and Megan Scott at Growing Green Families - Eugenia and Jarred knew that they just had to have a doula for their journey!

Katie, Carlee, and Savanna were thrilled to join their birth team. After months of preparation and waiting patiently for labor to begin on its own, Eugenia and Jarred carefully considered and decided (with the support of their doulas!) for induction at 41+3

Whilst things were a slow start, which we know can be true with inductions- there was a shift in the air as night approached. Just as Carlee arrived at the hospital to support, Eugenia had entered into true active labor. Carlee watched as Eugenia openly and lovingly welcomed labor land. As she waltzed to and from the dilation station, she ventured deeper into herself and prayer. Often reciting the same prayer that she and her husband shared before he had major surgery just a year earlier. She melted into counter pressure and took direction so well. A true rockstar. In just a little over 6 hours, baby Amaru was born into his dad’s hands (with a little help from OB 😉) and handed to his mama. A true reminder that although birth plans may change sometimes, it does not change your power.

This week Megan was so lucky to get to witness a friend be a total bad ass. She fought for this baby. It was FAST and definitely challenging but she never gave up and finally got to snuggle her babe. Supporting Katie and Teddy was a birth I’ll never forget. And getting the opportunity to support them along side another doula made it extra magic. Kiersten from Soluna Birth Care and I flowed so nicely together. It felt like we were one doula, 4 hands, 2 hearts. I will hold that beautiful afternoon close to my heart. ❤️❤️❤️ 📸

Each session will focus on a key topic, providing practical, expert-led education. A unique offering that complements traditional childbirth education by diving deeper into the journey of pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood. These sessions will be facilitated by highly trained professionals from our local community, including:

👶 Childbirth Educators & Doulas – Birth options, labor prep, and postpartum support
🤱 Lactation Consultants – Breastfeeding basics, troubleshooting, and newborn feeding
🧘‍♀️ Chiropractors, Massage & Physical Therapists – Body alignment for pregnancy and postpartum recovery
🎒 Babywearing & Car Seat Experts – Safe & functional ways to carry and transport your baby
🥗 Nutrition & Health Coaches – Nourishing yourself for a healthy pregnancy and beyond

This isn’t just a support group—it’s an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and build confidence in your choices before baby arrives.
