Creating a will is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your loved ones and ensure your wishes are honored. Whilte it may feel like something to put off, having a plan in place can bring clarity, comfort, and peace of mind.

Who needs a will?
The simple answer: everyone. Whether you have a large estate or just a few meaningful belongings, a will allows you to decide who receives your assets, who will care for your children and dependents, and how your personal wishes are carried out.

What happens without a will?
If someone passes away without a will, state laws determine how their assets are distributed. This process can delay decisions and create added stress for families, lead to outcomes that may not reflect your wishes, and require the court to make important decisions on behalf of your loved ones.

At Heritage Gardens Funeral Home, we've seen firsthand how thoughtful planning can ease both emotional and practical burdens during difficult times. Creating a will is not just about documents. It's an act of care for the people you love most.

One of the questions we get asked most often is "will you pick up my loved one?"

When someone passes, one of the first steps is bringing them into our care. This process, called a transfer, is handled with the utmost dignity, respect, and gentleness. Our team carefully receives your loved one from their place of passing, whether that is a home, hospital, or long-term care facility. They then transport them to the funeral home. This is done no matter the time of day or night.

At every step, your loved one is treat as exactly that, a loved one.

We move with intention, speak with care, and honor the space we are entering. Families are always given ftime if they need it, and we do our best to make this moment feel as calm and supported as possible.

You are not alone in this process. We are here to guide you through each step, with compassion.

For some, Heaven may be gold-paved streets and towers of ivory, but for Wayne, we suspect it is a perfectly clipped green, where his daughter Meagan and brother James are waiting for him to step up to the tee. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed, but we commend him to his Heavenly Father’s hands where we know he will have peace.
