Our beloved gopher tortoises here at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center are living proof that the best things in life don't need to be rushed. Gopher tortoises are a keystone species in Florida's longleaf pine ecosystem, meaning hundreds of other animals depend on them for survival. Pretty impressive for someone who takes the scenic route everywhere they go. 💚

Come meet our animal ambassadors and learn about the incredible wildlife that calls the Florida Panhandle home! Friday Community Days run every Friday in June and July from 9AM to 2PM.
