A trip to the bookstore is about more than finding a good book. 📚

During our visit to Half Price Books, our friends explored new interests, practiced decision-making, and shared the excitement of discovering stories together.

We talked and dreamed about this time for years! We are so blessed to now have Monica on our team helping us with our health and wellness initiative! She willingly gives of her time to plan, shop, prepare, and train our staff and participants while depositing her years of wisdom in the field to ensure all of our participants have the healthiest of options available! We couldn't be more excited.

Fun Fact: Monica served many years at the University of Kentucky Athletic Department supporting all of amazing UK student athletes to be all they could be through nutrition. Upon retirement she came on board and is continuing to serve. We appreciate you Monica and your passion to enrich the lives of those we serve!

Belonging rarely happens in grand moments.

Most often, it grows quietly in everyday routines — preparing meals together, helping set up for activities, sharing conversations, and celebrating small accomplishments.

For adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, these moments create something powerful: a sense of being valued, needed, and connected.

At Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries, we believe true community is built when every person has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and be known.

Belonging isn’t about doing something for someone.
It’s about doing life together.

Our recent ladies lunch at Panera Bread was full of laughter, conversation, and sweet moments of connection, but these outings are about more than just enjoying good food together.

Community lunches help our friends:

✨ Practice communication and social skills
✨ Strengthen friendships
✨ Make independent choices
✨ Feel seen and valued in their community

Every time we step into local spaces, we are fostering inclusion and celebrating growth. We are so proud of the ways our friends at LLM continue to push boundaries, develop new skills, and grow in who they are; not just within our walls, but throughout our community. 💙

At Lord’s Legacy Life Ministries, we believe understanding leads to dignity — and dignity leads to belonging.
