Folic Acid is an important B vitamin that helps the body make healthy new cells. While everyone needs folic acid, people who are pregnant, or plan on becoming pregnant, need extra folic acid supplementation in addition to eating vitamin-rich foods. Getting enough folic acid before and during pregnancy can prevent major birth defects in a developing baby’s spine and brain.

Some foods with folic acid include:

🥬 Leafy green vegetables
🍑 Fresh, frozen, and canned fruits
🫘Dried or canned beans, fresh or frozen peas, and nuts
🍞Enriched breads, cereals, and other whole grain products

This week’s respiratory illness update⚠️

We've moved from moderate to high this week in Illinois, with flu and COVID-19 levels continuing to rise.

It's even more important now to protect yourself and your loved ones by:
➡️ Washing your hands often
➡️ Covering coughs and sneezes
➡️ Staying home if you're sick
➡️ Considering wearing a mask - especially in crowded indoor spaces
➡️ Getting your annual flu and COVID-19 shots
