As the new year approaches, I was delighted to celebrate with everyone. We crafted a unique display of pictures with words that bring us joy and placed them on our doors as a daily reminder for 2026. Rachel and Conner excelled in preparing a delicious meal of country fried steaks, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. The evening was capped off with mimosas and wonderful company. Rachel and Conner prepared Chicken enchiladas today, which were served with chips and salsa, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Let us take a moment to introduce Flordelyn, or Lyn, a dedicated mother to three wonderful kids: Jan, Hannah, and Caleb. Hailing from the Philippines, Lyn calls Nisswa home and brings a warm and caring presence to our workplace. Her reserved nature belies a strong work ethic and a willingness to help others. Lyn's favorite time of year is summer, when she can relax with her family and enjoy outdoor activities like fishing and gardening. At Christmas, Lyn loves nothing more than gathering with her family to celebrate with good food, gifts, and music. As a member of our team at Hills, Lyn's kindness, dedication, and commitment to excellence make her a valued asset.

Today's gathering featured a special performance by Judy Blocker, who sang holiday songs for the group. Rachel and Conner showcased their culinary skills with a baked cod , accompanied by rice and mixed vegetables. I took the opportunity to get creative and prepared a batch of homemade Grinch hot chocolate, which turned out to be quite enjoyable.

Today's events were truly delightful, highlighted by a visit from the Nisswa elementary kids who sang Christmas songs for our residents, showcasing impressive musical talent. Each grade level participated, providing an enjoyable experience. Our culinary team, led by Ranchel and Conner, served a delectable meal consisting of chicken tortellini, salad, and garlic breadstick. The afternoon featured bingo with Robin, a popular Monday tradition.

I am pleased to report that the Hills Crossing Holiday party achieved remarkable success, thanks to the exceptional efforts of Rachel, Conner, and Cindy, who provided outstanding food and refreshments. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to capture many moments through photographs. The kitchen staff's dedication to excellence and tireless work were highly commendable. The local church choir's performance was a highlight of the evening's festivities. I extend my gratitude to the attending families for creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Claus for their annual visit, which is always highly appreciated. Wishing all a Happy Holiday.

Let us introduce Elizabeth, or Liz, who lives in Pequot Lakes and is studying nursing at Central Lakes College. Her goal is to work in pediatrics or OB upon completing her RN program. Liz enjoys outdoor activities with her basset hound, Daisy, and appreciates the beauty of fall, including the colors and cool weather. She also enjoys Halloween, watching scary movies, and admiring spooky decorations. Liz values her family's Thanksgiving tradition, where everyone contributes to preparing a vast array of dishes, followed by relaxation and conversation.
