Today's weather was exceptionally warm. Prior to the heat becoming overwhelming, Judy opted to tend to her flower garden while James, Carol, and I embarked on a leisurely walk. Following our stroll, Shirley and I decorated her seasonal tree. Rachel prepared an outstanding lunch, featuring French dip sandwiches with perfectly seasoned grilled buns, cucumber salad, and French fries.

The week has been incredibly busy with activities focused on preparing our patios for summer. Today marked the beginning of our flower and vegetable planting initiative. A superb lunch, lasagna roll-ups accompanied by a fresh salad, was prepared by Rachel and Diane. We capitalized on the beautiful weather, spending considerable time outdoors.

This past day at Hills was quite enjoyable as I led individualized exercise sessions incorporating balloon activities and chair dancing for some of our residents. A notable highlight was the lunch crafted by Rachel and Conner which comprised seasoned pork wild rice corn and a delightful banana cream pie. Later the residents and I created bird feeders allowing them to appreciate the wildlife outside.

Today, we welcome Conner Peterson as our new Maintenance Director at Hills Crossing Senior Living. Most of you know Conner, as he has been working in the Kitchen and doing maintenance part time for a while. We are excited to have Conner step into this role.

Today we say goodbye to someone who has meant so much to all of us at Hills Crossing Senior Living.

For the past three years, Tony has been the heart behind so much of what keeps our community running. His dedication, kindness, and ability to always find a solution made a lasting impact on both our residents and our team. More than anything, it’s the way he connected with people that we will remember most.

Tony, you are truly one of a kind, and you will be deeply missed.

Join us today at 2 pm in wishing Tony all the best as he begins this next chapter—we know he will do amazing things.

On Thursday, May 21st, 2026 starting at 8 am, we will having our parking lot cracks filled, and the parking lot restriped. Please park on the road or the street. Do Not Park in the parking lot.

Luke and the students came for a visit, and we walked on the trail this morning due to the beautiful weather. Rachel served a delicious lunch of citrus chicken, orzo rice, and mixed vegetables, followed by pie. Dave, the son of Carol, visited and kindly assisted me with the remaining outdoor chairs. After lunch, Renee and her guest provided musical entertainment on the keyboard and led a sing-a-long.

Bill provided exceptional assistance in assembling new outdoor chairs today. Rachel prepared a delicious vegetable lasagna accompanied by garlic toast for our lunch service. Following lunch, we transported several residents to Walmart for a brief outing.

And that's a wrap...our flooring project is DONE!!! Thanks to the staff, residents, and families for all of your patience. It was greatly appreciated. Thanks to Tykes Carpet and Kasey Kruchten Construction for the amazing job!!!!

This morning, we engaged in several rounds of Kerplunk, followed by reading Chicken Soup for the Soul in the afternoon. The newly installed flooring looks outstanding, and we are eagerly anticipating its completion. Rachel and Cindy prepared an exceptional spaghetti pie accompanied by baked zucchini topped with Parmesan.
