Why run? To get outside, see things/places, get a good workout, talk with friends, accomplish training goals, endogenous dopamine.

Why physical therapy? To help you feel good, learn how to help your body do the things you want to do and need to do.

Why Boulder Run Physio at Ability Physical Therapy? We love running. We understand how it fits in to many of our lifestyles. We devoted our professional lives to learning how to help others enjoy the type of running they want (and other stuff too).

Strength training is an important tool for endurance athletes as it relates to longevity in sport and optimizing performance. Research points to strong correlations between increase in strength and decreased risk of injury in atheltes¹. Many endurance athletes suffer from overuse injuries due to the repetitive nature of their sport. Although temporarily decreasing training load may allow for tissue healing, re-exposing the relevant tissues to this repetitive load is likely to result in a similar outcome unless the body is trained to better withstand that load

Congratulations to the legendary Hellen Obiri on winning the TCS New York City Marathon yesterday- November 5, 2023! She is the first woman to win Boston and New York in the same year since 1989.

It has been an honor to help her keep moving through her training in this buildup as wells get to know her and her family. Hellen’s talent, hard work and complete devotion to being the best she can be are truly inspiring.

Congrats Hellen!
