Hello sweet prayer warrior friends...I need to give you an update on our Rebekah and ask for prayer covering once again for her and for our family. After Rebekah's shunt revision surgery she was still suffering from bad headaches and some other symptoms so an MRI was ordered. What we found was that in the 2 months since her last MRI her tumors have grown dramatically.😭The one in her right frontal lobe has now crossed over the midline and is now all over her left frontal lobe as well. In addition the one in her cerebellum has increased in size and it is deep in the midbrain. Medically nothing more can be done although we were able to get her into an Avastin infusion last Thursday, which was what held the tumors back from growing for 2 years. (She has had to pause for 6 months due to protein urea) Her brain is really tired and her memory and mobility have been greatly affected. We have her on steroids now for the massive amounts of edema that is causing the shunt to struggle to do it's job. Our main goal at this point is to keep the swelling under control because when it's not she suffers debilitating headaches and is completely miserable. 😢 One of her best friends Ashley, her baby Nora, and her mom (and my friend) Kelly are flying in on Monday from California to visit for a couple of days. Her other sweet friend Jessica from Charlotte is also trying to find a way to come. Please pray that she can make that happen as I know Bekah would love to see her. Immediate prayer needs are this...Please pray that the shunt will remain open and won't clog again. Pray that we can keep the headaches and pain under control and that the tumor would STOP growing,(not to mention shriveling up and disappearing!! We are still contending for her miracle!) Pray for her son Brayden, her brother Nathan, and of course for myself and Gary as we navigate the upcoming days. We aren't ready to give up and neither is she. We are still doing everything alternatively that we know to do to give her more time on this earth. She has been such a brave fighter for all these years (12 and a half) and her biggest concern is that she doesn't want people to be disappointed in God if she is not healed. I tell her that her life has been used as such a testimony and has inspired and encouraged many many people over the years. And even if she is not healed on this side of heaven, that she has reached many for the Kingdom of God. We are so very proud of her!
