After dedicating 22 years of service as a Cyber Warfare Officer in the US Air Force, he transitioned into the civilian world in IT and works as a Systems Engineering Leader. In an effort to support his son’s interest, he signed him up for a martial arts class. Instead of watching from the sidelines, like most parents, he decided to join the class so that they could spend time together. Within a fe
w years both father and son earned their first black belt and began teaching others. It was then that Matt began to seriously take interest in his love for martial arts and self-defense. He discovered that he had a passion for sharing and passing on the ability to protect oneself without all the formality of a dojo, wearing a uniform and earning belts. He wants to make self-defense accessible to all levels and all abilities, this is when MPOWER began. Learning to be situationally aware and being able to respond with intention is his wish for all his students.
