How did you champion Mental Health Awareness Month?
• Did you get 7-9 hours of sleep every night?

: All About Hypothermia!

What is hypothermia? Hypothermia is when your body loses heat faster than it can produce, resulting in your body pressure dropping dangerously low.

How to Prevent Hypothermia:

1.) Stay dry. Always choose waterproof outer layers when available. If your clothing gets wet, change as quickly as possible, as wet clothing increases heat loss.
2.) Keep Indoor Spaces Warm. Use blankets and bedding at night to keep your body warm. Set your home heating systems to a safe temperature as you sleep.
3.) Provide warmth. Offer warm beverages to people who have been outside, slowly warming their body and extremities to avoid causing shock.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year to share a meal with the ones you love.

Here are three helpful tips to make your holidays even smoother.
1.) Did you forget to pick up fresh herbs for your new recipe? If you have the dried herb, you're in luck! There’s an easy substitution that will allow your food to be just as tasty. Remember, one teaspoon of dried herb for every 1 tablespoon of fresh herb.

2.) Not sure what size turkey to prepare for your meal? Don’t forget the turkey has many parts that go unserved. These suggestions may seem high but they account for the turkey in its entirety. Plan to serve each guest ¾ to 1 pound of turkey or up to 1½ pounds if you’d like to have leftovers.

3.) Perishable food should only sit out at room temperature for a maximum of 2 hours. If sitting out longer, the USDA warns this food can develop bacteria and quickly multiply. Simply return food to the refrigerator or freezer if it’s been close to 2 hours.
