Last weekend, Indiana Orthopedic Institute (IOI) was honored to host the International Orthopedic Education Network- IOEN at our flagship ambulatory surgery center in Noblesville for The Future of Hip & Knee Arthroplasty: Innovation in the ASC conference.

This marked IOEN’s first time holding a program inside an ASC, creating a unique setting for expert faculty and other distinguished leaders in orthopedic surgery. Attendees experienced an in-depth discussion on the future of hip and knee arthroplasty in the ASC setting and a special course in value-based care.

Thank you to IOEN, our speakers, and all who attended in person and virtually for making this event such a success. We look forward to continuing these important conversations on advancing orthopedic care.

Lights! Camera! Action! The HOPCo Marketing team is on-site in Noblesville, Indiana, at Indiana Orthopedic Institute (IOI), supporting our partners with video production for marketing and communications.

This week, we had the privilege of capturing a patient testimonial from Barbara Bratt, who shared her story about the outstanding care she received from Dr. Luo and the IOI team. Barbara had been struggling with pain that made walking and using stairs difficult. While injections were initially recommended, Dr. Luo determined that surgery would be the best option for her. Thanks to his care, Barbara is now back on her feet and returning to her life.

Indiana Orthopedic Institute (IOI) is excited to host a signature program on September 12 - 13 in partnership with the International Orthopedic Education Network- IOEN. We are honored to welcome IOEN to our flagship ambulatory surgery center (ASC) in Noblesville for their program, The Future of Hip & Knee Arthroplasty: Innovation in the ASC.

This marks a first for both IOI and IOEN: our inaugural time hosting an event of this kind, and IOEN’s first time holding a program inside an ASC. What better setting to explore both the clinical and business aspects of ASCs than within a state-of-the-art facility that just opened this past February?

Attendees will hear from expert speakers representing IOI, IOEN, Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), and other distinguished guests. A highlight of the program will be the opportunity to observe a live surgical procedure inside IOI’s advanced surgical center, offering real-time insights into surgical techniques, technology, and patient care.

For those unable to join in person, the full program - including the live surgical sessions - will be streamed in real time, providing global access to this unique educational experience.

Strategic growth in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) requires discipline and foresight.

When asked by Becker's ASC Review to share his perspective on scaling an ambulatory ASC model, Dr. Michael Meneghini, founder and CEO of Indiana Orthopedic Institute, emphasized the importance of starting small, designing facilities with flexibility for future growth, adding staff only as caseloads support it, and investing in technology that drives efficiency and lowers costs.

He also cautioned against cutting corners on operating room size or sterile processing capacity, both of which are critical in orthopedics. Above all, Dr. Meneghini highlighted the importance of having a solid business plan, committed surgeons, and payer contracts in place before launch to ensure sustainable growth.

Our new $35 million, 38,000-square-foot facility was built with a vision to deliver the future of musculoskeletal (MSK) care, integrating advanced outpatient surgical services, research, education, and innovation under one roof.

Indiana Orthopedic Institute (IOI) is proud to serve as the anchor for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology’s groundbreaking Innovation Grove - a $102 million facility that will position Terre Haute as a national hub for medical technology. Now under construction, Innovation Grove will transform healthcare, education, and economic growth in west central Indiana.
