✨ Ever feel great in your body one moment… only to spiral into self-doubt the next?

You’re not alone—and you’re not broken. Body image can feel like an emotional roller coaster, and there’s a reason for that. Different parts of you are just trying to protect you in a world that constantly pressures us to look a certain way.

In my latest blog post, I share how focusing on appearance—while totally understandable—often leaves us feeling disconnected and dissatisfied. I also dive into why your weight naturally fluctuates day to day (yep, 2–4 lbs is totally normal!), and how to begin relating to your body with more curiosity and compassion through an IFS lens. 💛

🌿 To the Part of You That Always Wants to Get It Right…

Perfectionism often shows up as the voice that says:

“You should’ve done more.”

“That wasn’t good enough.”

“Don’t even start unless you can do it perfectly.”

But here’s what I want you to know:
That voice isn't you. It's a part of you — trying to protect you.

It might believe that being perfect keeps you safe.
Safe from judgment. Safe from failure. Safe from the pain of “not enough.”

But perfection isn’t the path to peace.
Compassion is.
Consistency is.
Being real is.

What if “good enough” is actually more than enough?

What if progress — even imperfect progress — is the bravest thing you can offer today?

💬 I’d love to hear:
Where has your inner perfectionist been showing up lately? And what might you say to that part with kindness?

You’re allowed to be a work in progress and worthy all at once. 🤍

Lately I’ve been noticing how quickly my inner critic jumps in.

“You should’ve done more.”
“That wasn’t good enough.”
“Why can’t you just get it together?”

Sound familiar?

But here’s what I’ve been practicing instead of spiraling:

🧡 Taking a breath.
🧡 Saying, “Hey, I hear you. You’re trying to help.”
🧡 Asking, “What are you so afraid might happen?”

Most of the time, it’s not really about being perfect.
It’s about wanting to feel safe, accepted, or worthy.

That critic isn’t the enemy — it’s just a scared part trying its best.

Gentleness goes a long way.

Therapist, you hold space for everyone else… but who’s holding space for you?

Long hours. High emotional load. The pressure to always be present, steady, and regulated — even when you’re running on empty.

Maybe you're feeling the weight of compassion fatigue.
Maybe you’ve started questioning your capacity, your boundaries, or even your passion for the work you once loved.

You’re not broken. You’re human.
And you deserve support just as much as your clients do.

As a therapist myself — and someone who’s been in this work for over 25 years — I get it.
You don’t have to carry it alone.

If you’re a mental health professional in Indiana ready to feel grounded again, I’m here.
Let’s reconnect you to your purpose, your Self, and your life outside the therapy room.

💭 Ever feel like you should know better by now?

You’ve trained, studied, held space for others.
You help people find clarity every day —
And yet… your own patterns still sneak up on you.

The procrastination.
The overworking.
The inner critic that won’t quit.

It can feel like a double shame —
Struggling and believing you shouldn’t be.

But here’s the truth:
Being a therapist doesn’t mean being immune.
Your parts are still trying to protect you —
From failure, from criticism, from overwhelm.

What if instead of pushing through,
you paused and asked:
✨ “What are you trying to help me avoid?”
✨ “What would it look like to care for you right now?”

You don’t need to fix yourself.
You don’t need to earn rest.
You’re already worthy of the same compassion you offer others.

If you’re craving support that holds your story, too —
Let’s talk.

🌀 “Perfectionism is protection — not your personality.”

That inner voice demanding you get it just right?
That push to do more, prove more, be more?

It’s not all of you — it’s a Part of you.

From an IFS (Internal Family Systems) perspective, perfectionism is often a protector.
A Part that learned, at some point, that being perfect felt safer.

🔹 Safer from judgment.
🔹 Safer from failure.
🔹 Safer from not being enough.

But what if this Part didn’t need to be in charge anymore?

What if you could meet it with compassion instead of criticism?

That’s the work of Self-leadership.
Leading from calm, clarity, and care — instead of fear.

✨ You’re not broken.
✨ You’re beautifully protected.
✨ And now you’re learning to lead from within.

💬 Life’s busy. Therapy still matters.

If you're waiting for life to slow down before starting therapy… you might be waiting forever.

Here’s the truth:
You don’t need more time — just a moment to prioritize you.
Even 30 minutes can make a difference.

🧠 Therapy = sustainability.
Not another to-do — a reset that helps you handle the chaos.

Feeling the weight of perfectionist pressure?
That voice in your head that says “it has to be perfect or it’s not worth doing” — that’s not you, it’s a Part of you. A well-meaning protector, trying to keep you from failure, shame, or being seen as "not enough."

But what if there’s another way?
A way where you don’t have to earn your worth through overwork or burnout.
A way where small steps do count — and permission to be human becomes your new superpower.

This is the kind of inner work I help clients do every day, using IFS (Internal Family Systems) to gently unblend from the pressure and return to a Self-led, more peaceful way of living.

If you're tired of the all-or-nothing cycle and ready for compassionate consistency, message me. Let’s talk about how I can help.
