Catch it early. We are not talking about a cold!
Lymphedema doesn't always show up dramatically. Sometimes it starts subtly, and that's exactly why it's important to recognize the early warning signs:
✋ Swelling in your arm, leg, fingers, or toes
✋ A feeling of heaviness or tightness in your limbs
✋ Restricted range of motion
✋ Your rings, shoes, or clothes are fitting differently
✋ Skin that feels harder or thicker than usual
✋ Recurring infections in the affected area
Here's something important: Lymphedema can develop months or even years after surgery, radiation treatment, or injury. So even if you're past that experience, stay aware of changes in your body.
The earlier you address lymphedema, the better we can manage it and prevent it from getting worse.
Your body is smart. It sends signals. Don't brush them off as "just swelling" or "getting older."
If something feels off, let's talk about it. Getting evaluated could be the difference between managing it easily or dealing with serious complications down the road.
