Proud moment with our AmeriCorps volunteers becoming certified in Mental Health First Aid. MHFA is an evidence-based training that teaches community members how to identify signs of mental health or substance-use challenges and how to respond with safety, compassion, and practical support.

Together we’re equipping local leaders in Santa Cruz County to recognize, respond to, and support individuals facing these challenges — strengthening our community one trained helper at a time. 💙

Our certification included scenarios and tools tailored for rural and Spanish-speaking communities, equipping us to bring culturally grounded support to local families.

Estuvimos presentes en el Amado Community Food Bank, llevando recursos, prevención, bienestar emocional y herramientas culturales a nuestras familias rurales.

Nuestro trabajo en estas comunidades es posible gracias a los programas y grants que sirven a Santa Cruz County:

Restaurants, bars, stores and establishments that serve or sell alcohol, we invite you to learn and be up to date on regulations and laws. Maintaining your liquor license in good terms is important, but avoiding sanctions is even more! We will have and informational session provided by the Arizona Department of Liquor. This will be a safe space to ask any questions and clear any doubts. The session will also be available via Zoom. Date to be determined. Send your waiters, waitresses, bartender and all team personnel, everyone is welcome! Please call (520)281-0579 or email mortega@circlesofpeace.us to register and save your spot as well as for any questions. Don't miss out!

💜 Community Impact Recap – Circles of Peace

October was a month of connection, awareness, and action across Santa Cruz County. From drug prevention and youth leadership to community health, heritage, and celebration, every event reflected what happens when our community moves with purpose — together.

We celebrated Red Ribbon Week with schools and law enforcement, honored our roots through Heritage and Día de los Mu***os storytelling, raised awareness during Kickin’ for a Cause, Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Month, and Su***de Prevention, and cheered on riders at the 13th Annual Nogales Bicycle Classic, our largest fundraiser for wellness programs. 🚴‍♀️

Our month also included Trunk-or-Treats, Spooktacular family nights, and impactful prevention work — from Naloxone SOS boxes and Mental Health First Aid certifications to AmeriCorps recruitment, YADA youth trainings, and parenting classes that strengthen families across Santa Cruz County. 💪

None of this would be possible without our incredible partners, volunteers, and community who show up — not just for events, but for each other. 💜

Together, we are building peace, prevention, and connection one moment at a time. ✨
