🌪️We can get so caught up in whatever system we have been raised in, or whatever newfound thing is out there.🤪When it comes to birth, it’s as old as dirt. Women have been squatting in rice fields for a millennia. Our bodies know what to do. We just somehow forgot that, and now have a medical system that is telling us what to do, how to do it, and how to avoid pain at all cost, even the cost of our future children’s health with asthma, ADHD, skin issues, gut issues, etc. Every choice in birth we make, has a consequence, whether negative or positive. 💝Physiological Birth has way more benefits than risk risks. Your body is not broken. 🙉Avoiding temporary discomfort and pain does not mean that it’s better. When you are aware of the intensity, what is happening in your body, 😯fear is taken out of the scenario, and the discomfort has purpose. 💪It’s definitely hard, but it is doable, and the overall benefit is sky high! 🎉😎👶🏻

🏠It might have been 2 days ago, which seems like years sometimes, but a sweet girl entered the world swiftly and safely at home. Sometimes babies come after long hours of waiting and sometimes they come fast and furious into their mama’s arms. 🫶👶This baby came like lighting! And cheers to Student Midwife Mckey, you did an amazing job !!⚡️Just an hour and 4 mins of labor! Happy birthday sweet 7 lbs. 9 oz. of love! We love you little L🎂🎉💝 Your mama is so strong!

🙌🏻I’m a little bit behind on this post, but I wanted to give a big shout out to an amazing mama and an amazing family. 🌞There’s nothing like seeing the first time mom usher her baby into this world with joy and grit💪🥰This one was a little bit sticky, but still came out just fine at 10 lbs. 13 oz.!! Whah… ??and barely a tear for Mama.. 🥰Another Wild Fig little sweetie was born last night! Y’all! Women are so fierce🔥 what a site to witness!! 💯One of my favorite things that my mom told me growing up, was if you set your mind to do something, you will do it! This mom did exactly that. She came to us later in her pregnancy as she was not satisfied with a medical model of care and wanted more choice for her Birth experience. When she went into active labor, her choice was everything. She pushed her baby out like a pro!🤯 We did not tell her what to do, she intuitively got it done! ✅ Who says 1st time mom’s can’t have babies at home!?! 🏠 🎉😭Happy birthday little C! 🏠Beautiful 2nd home birth with us for this mama. In the community setting, each birth is unique and treated with specialized intention and care. 💪This mama needed to do way more moving about and maneuvers to get her baby down and out this time! 🥰🥰We were humbled and blessed to be a part of this family’s journey. 🎥with permission

😎It brings me great joy when I can check in with a mama at 3-4 weeks and she says that all is going well, including breast-feeding. What?! 👀Honestly, sometimes this can be an enigma because so many people have issues with breast-feeding, slow healing, etc., so I am overjoyed to hear how well things were going.😀 If you don’t know this about Midwives, we check in with mothers more regularly and make sure that mom and baby are doing well as a unit: Usually at 24 to 48 hours, day 3 to 5, or 1 week, 2 week, 3 to 4 week, and 6 week. This is all depending on how things are going. 🏠This is not the typical hosptial/OB care, where you have a baby and then we see you at 6 weeks. We give individualized care based on your needs💯. waterproof

My goal is serve you with the faith I have in birth, to connect with you & build trust about the birthing process, as well as to empower you with evidence based knowledge. Birth is biological and safe. I have every confidence in you and your God-given ability to birth.
I am serving families wanting to birth in the home setting, whether water birth or on ‘land’.
I have been serving birthing folks since 2009 and know that this my calling. I’ve attended over 150 births and am trained in NRP as well as CPR/BLS. I have been apprentice-trained through the PEP process, through the North American Registry of Midwives, and finished my training in December 2019.

My services Midwifery services include:
A free, 1 hour, consultation interview (I encourage you to interview more than one midwife, to find the best fit for you and your spouse, or partner)
Initial Visit + 11-15 prenatal visits, education on nutrition, exercise, emotional state etc., as well as birthing methods in preparation and for your birth.
Phone, text and email support throughout pregnancy within business hours.
Emotional and physical support throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.
Postpartum & Breastfeeding support (list of lactation specialists to help) *pricing will vary*
Immediately following birth, a postpartum newborn exam, then newborn screening with CCHD at approximately 24 hours, birth certificate and SSN card submission, as well as 3 day follow up, 1 week (if you are not seeing a pediatrician, 3 week follow up if needed, and six week postpartum appointment.
Back-up midwife support if I'm called to another birth, death injury or illness, or for a prolonged birthing time
Child birth education & newborn normal education if you haven't had any, as well a materials and resources for lactation support
On Call for you 24/7 from 37 weeks.
If you are not wanting to birth at home, but want a skilled advocate by your side in the hospital, I also provide DOULA/MONTRICE SERVICES. These services are listed below.
-On Call from 37 weeks
-Will Attend 2-3 Prenatal Visits, including one with your provider if you desire as well as birth plan meeting.
-Available through email and text throughout pregnancy within reasonable hours 8am-9 pm
-Will bring chocolate and discuss your pregnancy and birth plan and how I can best serve. ----Will stay up to 2 hours after birth for breastfeeding help/recovery.
-Can do BP, Fetal Heart Tones, Cervical Checks at home before heading to the hospital as a montrice. Once at the hospital all medical procedures will cease and I will act as your doula/advocate only.
-Postpartum follow up at your convenience and birth record if you desire.
