Hearing loss is a sudden or gradual decrease in how well you can hear. It is one of the most common conditions affecting older and elderly adults. Approximately one in three people between the ages of 65 and 74 has hearing loss and nearly half of those older than 75 have difficulty hearing. Having trouble hearing can make it hard to understand and follow a doctor's advice, to respond to warnings, and to hear doorbells and alarms.

It can also make it hard to enjoy talking with friends and family. All of this can be frustrating, embarrassing, and even dangerous. Allow Hearts and Hands to help! Although we cannot reverse the conditions that come with gradual hearing lose, we can provide the necessary support and assistance during this time. Working together to hear better may be tough but we are trained to speak loudly, directly, and clearly; all while not shouting. Hearing better is worth the effort.

**It is very important that no scents be present! No perfumes, no scented body washes, fabric softeners, lotions, or pet dander.

**This clients lung condition is critical.

Must provide all ADLs and IDLs, supervision, medication reminders, meal preparation, lite house keeping, and adhere to the no scent policy.

As you get older, daily activities can become harder for many many reasons. For example; ones memory could be fading, or maybe their physical movements aren’t what they were in the past. These changes can result in neglect yourself. For seniors to live a healthy lifestyle being on top of personal hygiene is so important!

The main reason why personal hygiene is so important is that it’s a part of healthy living. There are many physical issues that can stem from poor personal hygiene habits, but it can also be a sign of depression. Paying attention to your loved one’s personal hygiene can give you a sense of how they are feeling, and if they possibly need extra help; potentially home care.
