The Norfolk Department of Public Health has detected the first West Nile Virus (WNV) activity of the season in the city of Norfolk. One mosquito sample has tested positive for West Nile virus. The sample was collected on July 18, 2025 along the 1100 block of North Military Highway.

Deshawn Wilson Jr., 21, has been missing from Norfolk, Virginia, since March 15, 2025. He was last seen in the Oceanview area of Norfolk, and since then, his family has not heard from him. His mother is extremely worried and just wants her youngest son to come home.

At the time of his disappearance, Deshawn was 5'5" tall, weighed approximately 135 pounds, and had black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans, silver-gray New Balance sneakers, and a fitted cap.

It has now been four months since Deshawn went missing, and his family still has no answers. If you have any information about Deshawn Wilson's disappearance, please contact the Norfolk Police Department at 757-696-9730.
