Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that can damage the optic nerve and lead to vision loss or blindness. It's the second leading cause of blindness worldwide.

Early symptoms are often not noticeable, so it's known as the "silent blinder". Symptoms include blurred vision, eye redness, halos around lights, and headaches.

Glaucoma occurs when fluid builds up in the eye due to a blockage in the drainage system. This increases pressure on the optic nerve

Risk factors include age, family history, and ethnicity. There's no cure for glaucoma, but early treatment can help preserve vision. Treatments include eye drops, medications, and surgery.
