Happiness can feel like a vague concept. Society tends to put personal pressure on what drives us to happiness.

Social connections, spiritual foundations, level of fitness, career status, and the environment influences what it means to us.

Assess positive emotion subjectively. Learn to fully engage in what you are doing. Get to that “flow state." Cultivate and work on relationships (friends, family, and intimacy). Define your purpose. Life is bigger than self (serve others).

practices picking up her feet while making her way through her obstacle course neighborhood. Repetition of lifting her feet using her hip flexors strengthens them. This repetition creates muscle memory. Most importantly, this keeps her UPRIGHT! Not to mention the ability to do her infamous twirl!

Move your thoughts in a happier direction by spending a few minutes outlining the next day. Journaling and preparing your thoughts, intentions, and tasks at night creates structure.

With no emotions attached to your words, simply get them on paper. Committing your thoughts to paper may have a greater impact than simply thinking them in your head. Writing requires a deeper level of mental processing.

Declutter your mind before and it may help you sleep better.

Coach David finds that tending to his 30+ plants serves as his way to find peace, structure, hope, patience, focus, discipline, and courage. A lesson that David has learned with his new passion is resiliency. "Even in conditions and environments that are not optimal, plants find a way to survive. Some pruning may need to happen, but they find a way."

Exposure to plants can be beneficial mentally and physically. Simply viewing plants can reduce stress, fear, anger, sadness, blood pressure, pulse rate and muscle tension.

All exercises have a regression or progression. Select the weight that allows you to maintain proper form, complete the full range of movement you’re going for, and allows multiple repetitions.

Keep the muscle under tension as long as you can! Write down your sets and reps to watch the gains!!
