July marks Black Women’s Equal Pay Day - a reminder of the ongoing challenges Black women face in earning fair wages compared to their peers. This gap reflects deeper issues linked to both racial and gender inequality, including how Black women are often overrepresented in lower-paying jobs and less seen in higher-paying roles.

This isn’t just about numbers - it’s about recognizing lived experiences and the barriers many face in the workplace. It’s important for teens to know because pay equity impacts families, communities, and the opportunities we all deserve.

What can we do? Educate ourselves with compassion, support policies that promote fairness, and uplift diverse voices in all career paths. Together, we can work toward a more just and inclusive future where everyone’s contributions are valued 💪🏾✨

Disability is an important part of our diverse communities and belongs at every table. Recognizing and celebrating disability helps create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and included.

Understanding disability as part of diversity means breaking down barriers and building a world where all abilities are respected and supported.

Teens, you can make a difference! Speak up, be an ally, and include everyone in your communities- because true belonging starts with each of us.

July is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month 💙

Nearly 300,000 children in the U.S. live with juvenile arthritis (JA) - a serious autoimmune disease that can impact every part of a child’s life.

Every child with JA deserves early support, expert care, and hope for a healthier future. That’s why the Arthritis Foundation is committed to:

✔️ Providing JA Camps, Connect Groups, and Power Packs to help newly diagnosed kids and families feel supported and empowered
✔️ Advocating for more pediatric rheumatologists - so kids don’t face long waits or long drives for care
✔️ Funding research and clinical trials with CARRA, CDC, and NIH to bring better treatments and breakthroughs

🌍 World Population Day | July 11, 2025 🌍

Theme: “Leave no one behind: Demographic resilience and equity at the heart of sustainable development”

Today is more than just a date on the calendar—it’s a call to action.

🗓 First observed in 1989 by the United Nations Development Programme, World Population Day was created to raise awareness about global population issues after the world reached 5 billion people on July 11, 1987.

Fast forward to 2025, our global population is now over 8 billion. But numbers are just part of the story.

At Teen Health 360, we recognize that youth are not just impacted by population trends—they are central to the solution. Issues like reproductive health, education, mental wellness, gender equity, and climate justice all intersect with population challenges.

This year’s theme reminds us that we must prioritize equity, especially in healthcare access, education, and youth leadership. Every young person deserves a voice in shaping a future that works for everyone—not just the majority.

📢 Let’s empower teens to speak up, advocate for their communities, and lead change that ensures no one is left behind.

💬 What’s one action you think would make your community more inclusive and equitable for youth?

Inclusion is Action.

Advocating for teens with disabilities means making sure all youth have access to the resources, spaces, and opportunities they need to thrive. This includes inclusive education, accessible public programs, and community systems that honor and support diverse needs.

Disability rights are human rights — and inclusive communities benefit everyone.

Did you know parks and recreation services are essential for youth development?

They support physical activity, improve mental well-being, and reduce stress among children and teens. According to the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), these spaces are critical for building healthy habits, increasing social engagement, and reducing screen time.

Public health starts in our communities - and parks are one of the most powerful tools we have. Let’s ensure every child has access to safe, enriching outdoor spaces.

🎆 Wishing You a Safe and Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

As we gather to celebrate the 4th of July, let’s remember that fireworks — while exciting — can pose serious risks, especially to teens. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, youth ages 15–19 are among the most frequently injured by fireworks each year.

🔴 Firework Safety Tips for Families:
✅ Watch professional fireworks shows from at least 500 feet away
✅ Choose safer alternatives like glow sticks or light shows
✅ Avoid sparklers and firecrackers around children and teens

Let’s celebrate freedom with fun and safety in mind!

💚 Healthy relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, open communication, and boundaries. It’s vital to recognize when a relationship is nurturing versus when it becomes controlling or isolating. Respect, consent, and support are the foundation of any strong connection.

Remember: love is respect, and you deserve a relationship where you can be your authentic self.
