Northern Nebraska AHEC is proud to celebrate the impact of the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) program and the people who make it possible across our region.

From introducing students to healthcare careers through job shadowing experiences to supporting hands-on training and continued learning, we’re helping build a strong, prepared workforce ready to meet the needs of rural communities in our region and throughout Nebraska.

Students, educators, partners, and supporters all play a role in this work, and there’s a place for you in it.

Surgical Technologists play a key role before, during, and after different surgical procedures. From ensuring the required equipment is in working order and patients are prepared, to providing support during procedures. Students are trained in all aspects of surgical technology practice. Completion of the program will provide student eligibility to sit for the Nationally Registered Surgical Tech (NRST) by American Allied Health (AAH).
