Since 2009, the Heartland Academy for Learning Opportunities has provided postsecondary opportunities to students ages 18-28 with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities. In addition, the program offers these students an opportunity to experience life on a college campus while developing self-determination, independent living, and employability skills.
