👋 Meet the duo behind The Therapy Collaborative—Meredith & Hillary!

Back when we worked together at , we used to joke about the “Hillary & Meredith Special”—we loved working together on the most complex, underserved kids. Whether we were on the inpatient psych unit or in the pediatric ICU, we showed up with one mission: find what works best for the child and family. 💪

Now, we’ve brought that same passion, precision, and out-of-the-box approach to Central Illinois—rooted in the same high standards we held at Lurie.

Our therapy isn’t cookie-cutter. It’s highly individualized, educational, family-centered—and yes, fun. Because we believe therapy should empower everyone involved.

The first photo was my last full day working at Lurie Children’s in 2022, pregnant with our first. My time at Lurie was instrumental to my career, pushing me to think creatively, dynamically, and critically to serve our patients at the highest level, alongside so many amazing people.

Fast forward to today, I arranged for Olivia, my OT graduate student, to spend the morning with to learn from the best.

Lurie and Chicago will always have a special place in our hearts at The Therapy Collaborative.

We are excited to join Tummy Time Play to help your little one’s development flourish and answer any questions you may have!

Tummy Time Play
--- Thursday July 10
--- 2-3pm; Children's Program Rooms 1-2
Join us for this relaxed, interactive program designed to encourage fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and socialization skills through play for our youngest library patrons! There will be bubbles, music, toys, and information highlighting the importance of early developmental skills.

This drop-in program is intended for children ages 0-18 months and their caregivers, but all are welcome to attend. No registration required.

Meet the founders of The Therapy Collaborative!

We’re Meredith and James Norwood, and our story is pretty unique ⚾✨

Meredith grew up right here in Bloomington, IL. James was raised on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. We met at Saint Louis University, and the real adventure began when James was drafted by the Chicago Cubs.

Over the past decade, we’ve shared countless moves, life changes, and new chapters—and now we’ve landed back in central Illinois with our two kids and two dogs.

We’re passionate about great coffee, meaningful time with friends and family, living intentionally, and raising kind, curious kids.

What we love most? Building a community at The Therapy Collaborative and creating a space where families feel supported, seen, and empowered.

We’re not just running a practice—we’re welcoming families into something special.

Hi parents! We’re thrilled to announce our brand-new class series called Foundations — specifically designed for babies 0–12 months and their parents!

The first year is full of change—for babies and their parents. Our Foundations class series is here to help you understand what’s typical, what’s not, and what you can do to support your child’s growth. Each session is led by licensed pediatric therapists and designed to give you confidence through education, support, and connection.

Last Monday, baby Isla and I attended Northwestern’s research day. I have been co-mentoring 6 Northwestern physical therapy students, as we study pediatric Functional Neurological Disorder to improve care for kids diagnosed with FND. I am so proud of all the work my students have done over the last 2 years, seeing their poster was amazing!
