✨Break up✨ with your Injury Protocol!
😴 Stop resting injuries
Complete rest is rarely the answer. Relying on rest can reduce circulation to the affected area, therefore prolonging healing and repair. Most injuries respond best to modifying the activity rather than completely avoiding it.
❄️ Stop icing injuries
“But I thought swelling and inflammation is bad?” When an injury occurs, inflammatory cells head to the area to clean up the affected tissue and debris. Applying ice can interfere with the body’s own healing cascade and slow healing time.
🧘🏼♀️Stop stretching injuries
Chances are if you’re dealing with an injury, the affected area could benefit from strengthening rather than stretching. Strength training while modifying load allows mechanical stress to build tissue tolerance. Proper load management promotes repair!
🤲🏼 Find the right chiro 😉
If your chiro isn’t providing you with tools to manage your own symptoms outside the office, it’s time to find a new chiro!
