We want to wish our very own Kelsey Olsen, PA-C a Happy National Physician Assistant Week!

Kelsey has been with Orthopaedic Sports and Medicine Center for almost 8 years as a vital member of our clinical team!

When she is not treating patients or assisting Dr. Ringus in surgery, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and pursuing numerous creative hobbies - including baking her OSC team goodies. Thank you for all that you do for OSC and your patients, Kelsey! We appreciate you! ☺️

🍂 September 22nd is the official 1st day of Fall for 2025! 🍂 Enjoy the change of seasons by staying on your feet and preventing injuries from falls.

Below are some tips to keep you steady on your feet and away from the doctor's office:

-Know Your Medications: Some medications can cause side effects that lead to an increased risk of falls. Speak with your doctor if you experience any symptoms such as dizziness, blurred vision, or difficulty walking when taking certain medications.

-Stay Active: Staying active and getting adequate exercise helps build muscle and stamina, improving strength and reducing risk of falls.

-Wear Sensible Shoes: Make sure your footwear is comfortable, flat and has non-skid soles to reduce your risk of slips and slides when walking.

-Use Assisted Devices: Walkers, canes, handrails, and grab bars all provide support (and reduce fall risk) for those that rely on them for daily use.

-Reduce Trip Hazards: Remove electrical cords from walkways, use non-skid mats when entering/exiting shower or bathtub, clean up spills on floors immediately and secure loose carpet or rugs with double-sided adhesive tape.

-Have Adequate Lighting: Keep your home well lit with lamps, nightlights, etc. so you can see objects in your path that may cause you to trip and fall.
