What an incredible evening for the NRH Foundation 19th Ambassador Ball! The event was a true success, bringing together a passionate team and generous supporters to make a meaningful impact. Thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm in the room, vital funds were raised to support scholarships and community health programs.

This night would not have been possible without the leadership and hard work of our outstanding team: Jenna Woodward, Miranda Andrews, Erin Barnhart, and Trisha Crow. Special thanks as well to our talented decorator, Nancy Roberts Coleman, for creating such a beautiful atmosphere.

We are deeply grateful to our committed committee members and volunteers, Lawrence Carter, Lane Tinsley, Chris Graves, Austin Carroll, Nancy Smith, Robin Singh, Emily Poppe, Kayla Davis, Teresa Turner, and Emily Alinger, whose time and energy helped make the event seamless.

Finally, thank you to all who attended and continue to make a lasting difference in our community. Here are just a few highlights from the evening. More is to come on our socials and our website within the week!

Norman Regional’s Emergency Medicine Residency program just got a major boost, thanks to more than $22,000 in NRH Foundation grants. New chest tube, central line, and pericardiocentesis trainers mean more hands-on practice for residents and nurses and more confidence when it matters most.

Matthew Davis, DO, FACOEP expressed his appreciation. “Because of this generous support, our residents can train on advanced procedure simulators that mirror real-life emergencies. That investment strengthens not only our learners, but the entire community we serve by ensuring patients receive care from physicians who are exceptionally prepared.”

More training, more experience, and stronger skills all add up to one thing: even better care for our community.

Sometimes it’s the simplest resources that make the biggest impact. The NRH Foundation is proud to support the addition of bariatric bedside commodes in PCCU, helping ensure every patient receives safe, timely, and dignified care.

By expanding access to the right equipment, our care teams can better support mobility, reduce risk, and create a more comfortable experience for patients who need it most. It’s a meaningful step toward more inclusive, compassionate care across our hospital.

Because of the generosity of our donors, meaningful improvements in patient care are happening every day through NRH Foundation grants.

One recent grant is making a direct impact on our Inpatient Wound Care team, and the wound care team sees an average of 35 patients every day! Funding for three new iPad mini devices is helping replace outdated equipment and giving nurses the tools they need to accurately photograph and document patient wounds and their progress.

With updated, reliable devices, our wound care nurses can:
✔ Capture high-quality images for better tracking of wound healing
✔ Detect complications earlier and improve patient outcomes
✔ Strengthen communication between care teams

Even more importantly, preventing just one hospital-acquired pressure injury can save thousands in costs, while protecting patients from serious complications. This is what donor support makes possible. That's a real impact!

From **Norman to Green Bay**, Steve Wood brings serious sports passion and a “get ‘er done” mindset to the NRH Foundation Executive Board.

Inspired by personal and family healthcare experiences, Steve is driven to make an impact at the community level because he believes we can (and should) take better care of one another. 🧀 A proud Sooner AND Cheesehead, you’ll find him cheering on his teams year-round… especially if it involves the Packers (bucket list: Super Bowl with Green Bay in the game.

Steve is all about pushing forward, making things happen, and figuring it out along the way. From working his way to a VP-level role at a Fortune 200 company to being a first-generation college graduate, Steve’s story is built on hard work, resilience, and strong support from faith, family, and friends.

Whether he’s in the boardroom or the stands, one thing’s certain, Steve shows up ready to contribute, connect, and win.

Thanks to our donors, the Norman Regional Health Foundation is helping to send our amazing nurses to the Palliative Care Summit! This grant provides specialized training focused on improving how care teams support patients with serious illness, including navigating difficult conversations, managing symptoms and providing comfort-focused care at every stage of treatment. This opportunity helps caregivers to build new skills, gain confidence, and continue showing up for patients and families in meaningful ways.
