If you see blue pumpkins tonight, or even if you don’t, just remember EVERY child is a different child. We all have different abilities, capacities, experiences, and needs… and a little understanding goes a long way for families navigating these challenges. Regardless of our differences, we can ALL have FUN! Children develop at many different rates that are not always linear. They may be working on social skills, behavioral regulation, sensory challenges, emotional outburst, common greetings, food allergies, and so much more! This article is a wonderful reminder to show compassion to others as we celebrate tonight!

Happy Halloween from SEC! The Teal Pumpkin Project raises food allergy awareness and offers the option of non-food trinkets and toys in a separate bowl makes Halloween safer and more inclusive for all trick-or-treaters. Check out this map to find homes participating in the Teal Pumpkin project.

Children do not always have the skill set or verbal ability to express their anxious thoughts or feelings like adults. Oftentimes, they express their anxiety through behaviors. We can better help our children process and cope with their anxiety, if we are able to recognize some of the ways they may be alternatively expressing it.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS
