Rosi Jael Rios, PA-C is a bilingual certified Physician Associate proudly born and raised in Southwest Oklahoma City. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma and her Master of Health Sciences from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Physician Associate Program, graduating in 2015.

With experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, and more than five years in pediatric primary care, Rosi Rios, PA-C is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children from infancy through adolescence. She practices trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, family-centered medicine and believes that strong partnerships with parents are the foundation for raising healthy, confident, and thriving children.

Fluent in Spanish and proud of her Mexican heritage, Rosi is deeply committed to serving families with culturally responsive, compassionate care. She is an active member of the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Associates (OAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), and she remains up to date with current pediatric guidelines through annual continuing medical education and ongoing professional learning.

March is Colore**al Cancer Awareness Month, reminding us of the lifesaving value of early detection and prevention. Recent data show that colore**al (colon and re**al) cancer has become the LEADING CAUSE OF CANCER-RELATED DEATHS IN PEOPLE UNDER 50 YEARS OLD overtaking other major cancers in this age group.

Even more concerning, the INCIDENCE OF EARLY-ONSET COLORECTAL CANCER is PROJECTED TO INCREASE BY MORE THAT 140 % by 2030, with tens of thousands of younger adults expected to be diagnosed in that year alone.

These trends highlight that colore**al cancer is no longer just a disease of older adults, making regular screening and awareness vital for adults starting at age 45.

Screening is one of the most effective tools we have to prevent colore**al cancer or catch it early when it’s most treatable. Our clinic can provide referrals for preventive screenings such as colonoscopies, stool-based tests, and other recommended options.
Recognizing symptoms early can also save lives: signs of colon and re**al cancer include blood in the stool or re**al bleeding, changes in bowel habits (like diarrhea, constipation, or narrowing of stools), persistent abdominal pain or cramping, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, and a feeling that the bowel doesn’t empty completely. YOU MAY ALSO HAVE NO SYMPTOMS.

If you’re 45 or older — or younger with risk factors or symptoms — talk to your provider about screening options and take proactive steps toward your health.
