Kevin Dewayne Profice

Kevin Dewayne Profice, 50, passed away on November 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Born on February 17, 1975, Kevin lived his life with a joyful spirit and a heart that never stopped giving.

Kevin was known for his mischievous grin and the playful pranks that kept everyone on their toes. He had an easy way of making people laugh, and he carried a sense of humor that brightened even the hardest days. A kid at heart, Kevin embraced life with wonder, excitement, and a little bit of mischief.

He loved the open road and traveled everywhere he could, never turning down the chance for a new adventure. A true car enthusiast, Kevin could talk for hours about engines, paint jobs, and the perfect ride. He also cherished the quiet calm of fishing, the thrill of hunting, and the joy of listening to all kinds of music.

Family was the center of Kevin’s world. He loved holidays, gatherings, and any moment that brought everyone together. Whether cheering on the OKC Thunder, rooting for the San Francisco 49ers, or watching his favorite Hulk movies, Kevin lived with passion and heart in everything he did.

Kevin had a gift for lifting people up. He was motivational by nature and had a saying for just about anything—always ready with words that encouraged, challenged, or made you laugh. His voice and spirit carried wisdom, comfort, and the gentle push many needed on a difficult day.

Kevin is survived in death by his mother, Deloris (Quinn) Profice; his daughter, Kamrin Profice; and his son, Tanner Profice. He is also survived by his sisters, Shaneka Smalls and Alexine Profice; his niece, Amari Carter; and his nephews, Gerall Smalls (wife Brianna Smalls), Cedric Carter, and Isaiah Smalls.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alexander Profice; his grandparents, James and Mary Profice and Rev. Ceciro and Eliza Quinn; and his niece, Samya Smalls.

A devoted shoe lover, Kevin’s collection was one of his greatest joys and a reflection of his one-of-a-kind style. To honor his life and spirit, the family invites everyone attending his service to wear their favorite or best pair of shoes in celebration of Kevin.

“The world is yours, handle your ish.” – Kevin Profice

Today we remember Hayden Welch — a devoted Tennessee Vols fan from Mississippi, who found his way to Oklahoma. Hayden passed away on November 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love for his family, friends, and his beloved Vols.

He lived life with a servant’s heart, cheering loud, loving deeply, and giving generously. Now we imagine him in the heavenly stands, singing “Rocky Top” with the angels.

The death of a loved one can bring unexpected stress and tension within families. One person wants one thing, another has a different idea — and in the middle of grief, those disagreements can feel even heavier.

Planning ahead helps prevent that conflict. It gives your family clarity, peace, and guidance by making your wishes known in advance — from how you want your service to be carried out to how you want your affairs handled.

Give your loved ones the gift of certainty.

Donna Gustafson

Donna Sue Gustafson, nee Young, passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Donna was bornin in Sunnyside, Washington on June 28, 1948, and moved with her family to Tulsa at just two years of age. She was the eighth of nine children born to Bertha and J.T. Young, and from the very beginning she grew up in a home full of noise, love, and laughter. She graduated from Will Rogers High School and later received her associate’s degree in accounting. She went on to join ONG/ONEOK, where she worked with loyalty and dedication for more than 30 years, building lifelong friendships along the way.

On April 28, 1976, she married the love of her life, Dale Roger Gustafson and would have celebrated 50 years on April 28, 2026. Together, they shared a deep, joyful love for one another, their family, and the many memories they created side by side. They made their home at University Club in Tulsa for 38 years, where they hosted 4th of July celebrations, watching fireworks over the River Parks with friends and family gathered close.

In April of 2023, Donna and Dale moved to Norman to be closer to her sister, nieces, and nephews. They first lived at Sooner Station before purchasing their very first house shortly thereafter – something that brought Donna so much pride and excitement. She adored shopping for decorations and lovingly turned that house into a warm, welcoming home.

Donna gave of herself in endless ways and had the most generous heart. She loved deeply and made sure everyone around her felt welcome, seen, and included. She was the life of every party and never arrived without her signature bling, sparkle, big laugh, and a country song. To know Donna was to feel joy. While our hearts are incredibly heavy, we hold tight to her example and hope to carry her love, generosity, and laughter with us until we see her again.

Donna, affectionately known as “Nonni” is survived by her devoted husband Dale, two sisters, and so many nieces and nephews who lovingly thought of her as their “other mother.” Her impact on our lives is immeasurable, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Tribute Memorial Care on December 14, 2025, at 1:30pm. Please join us in honoring her by bringing your stories and memories to share, as we laugh, cry, and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Due to her battle with Congestive Heart Failure, please send donations to OU Health at Donate to OU Health General and select the Heart program.

Robert E. Shalhope

Robert Ely Shalhope, 84, passed away on November 7, 2025 after a long and fulfilling life.

Bob was born on February 24, 1941, in Kansas City Missouri to Lee and Cecile Shalhope. He grew up in LaGrange Illinois.

Dr. Robert E. Shalhope was a devoted historian, teacher, and scholar whose career at the University of Oklahoma spanned more than forty years. After earning his B.A. from DePauw University in 1963 and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri, he joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma in 1967. Over the decades, he served as Assistant, Associate, and full Professor of History, and was honored as the George Lynn Cross Professor of History. He retired as Professor Emeritus in 2007.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Shalhope authored several influential books, including Sterling Price: Portrait of a Southerner, John Taylor of Caroline: Pastoral Republican, The Roots of Democracy: American Culture and Thought, 1760–1800, and Bennington and the Green Mountain Boys: The Emergence of Liberal Democracy in Vermont, 1760–1850. His later works, A Tale of New England: The Diaries of Hiram Harwood and The Baltimore Bank Riot: Political Upheaval in Antebellum Maryland, further reflected his deep engagement with the study of American republicanism and early national political culture.

Dr. Shalhope’s scholarship profoundly shaped understanding of early American political thought, particularly the development of republicanism and the ideological origins of the Second Amendment. His essays appeared in leading journals such as the William and Mary Quarterly, Journal of Southern History, and Journal of American History.

He was recognized nationally for his scholarship, receiving fellowships from both the National Endowment for the Humanities and Harvard University’s Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History. In 2000, he served as Visiting Professor of Modern History at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, sharing his expertise abroad and forming lasting friendships with fellow historians. Even after retirement, he remained engaged with his field, continuing to read, write, and discuss history with enthusiasm.

Throughout his career, Bob was known not only for his intellectual rigor but also for his warmth and generosity as a mentor. His office door was always open to students, and he inspired generations to think critically about history and the meaning of citizenship. Colleagues remember him as a thoughtful scholar, a dedicated teacher, and a kind friend with a dry wit and a deep love of conversation. Dr. Shalhope’s legacy endures through his writings, his students, and the countless lives he touched during his long and remarkable career.

Bob found joy in life’s simple pleasures and cherished time spent in nature, with family and close friends. He and Emma, spent many years on Martha’s Vineyard where they both found peace and inspiration. They considered the Vineyard their second home and were respected members of the community. At home, in Norman, one of his proudest accomplishments was co-founding the Norman Youth Soccer League in September 1976, a lasting testament to his love of sport and his heartfelt connection to community.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Emma; their children, Adelaide and her husband Brian of Gartness, Scotland, and Robert and his wife Stephanie of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren, Claire and Jack; and brother Don and his wife Betty of Hood River Oregon,

Bob possessed a brilliant mind, a disarming wit, and an empathetic heart. He will be dearly missed.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Patsy J Glass

Patsy Gunsaulis–Shafer–Glass, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, December 6, 2025 at the Tribute Memorial Care Event Center, 4300 W Indian Hills Rd., Norman, OK 73072.

She was born on May 25 in Fairview, Oklahoma, to Floyd Gunsaulis and Luella Lennon, one of six children — four boys and two girls.

Patsy lived a life that was as full and vibrant as her personality. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Dickie Dean Shafer and Dirk Shafer; and siblings Dale McCoy, Jay McCoy, and Roy Lee Ake.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Deidra; beloved grandsons, Fain and Ewing Kistler, who affectionately called her “Oma”; her brother, Lennon Gunsaulis; sister, EmmaLou Derrick; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who adored her dearly.

Her greatest joy in life came from being “Oma” to her grandsons. She moved to Norman in 2010 to be close to them, a decision that brought her immense happiness and countless cherished memories. Patsy had a gift for making everyone around her feel loved and celebrated — especially through her legendary “Happy Birthday Group” gatherings, which she organized faithfully each month to honor her friends and family.

A proud educator and artist, Patsy earned three master’s degrees — 2 in education and 1 in art from Northwestern State College and Oral Roberts University. Her career as a teacher was marked by compassion, patience, and creativity. She began teaching in Sand Springs Elementary and later worked with youth at the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital before spending the last 25 years of her career teaching kindergarten at Oakdale Public Schools. She inspired countless young minds and left an indelible mark on generations of students.

Patsy’s artistic talent was extraordinary. She created beauty through many mediums — acrylics, pottery, watercolor, commercial art, and sculpture — expressing her boundless imagination and love of color.

When she wasn’t teaching or creating, Patsy could be found enjoying life’s simple pleasures: visiting her brother’s farm in Siloam Springs, Arkansas; playing spirited games of Spinner; working in her yard; or sharing laughter with family and friends. She also served her community proudly as a clerk for the Cleveland County Election Board for 11 years.

Patsy will be remembered for her radiant smile, generous heart, and joyful presence. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and Oma — a woman whose warmth, humor, and creativity brightened the lives of everyone she met.

Her love for family and life itself will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
