Center for Children & Families (CCFI)

Center for Children & Families (CCFI) Healing Children. Empowering Youth. Strengthening Families. CCFI is a United Way of Norman partner.

At the Center for Children and Families (CCFI), we offer strength-based programs and services to aide and educate families coping with abuse, neglect, divorce, separation, teenage pregnancy, a lack of quality out-of-school care, and/or other adverse experiences. Since 1969, CCFI has partnered with schools, neighborhoods, donors, public agencies, and families to provide education, prevention, and t

reatment services for families because we believe that every boy and girl deserves to grow up safe, nurtured and loved. While our continuum of care is broad, with services ranging in intensity, our focus has always been to ensure that all children have safe, secure, nurturing environments and caring adults in their lives. We know that an investment in the lives of children today saves lives, preserves families, reduces crime, improves educational results and provides the best possible future for our economy and our community’s health.

A big shout‑out to the Pioneer Library System for generously donating sensory items that helped Club teens thrive during our SMART Moves: Emotional Wellness program. Their support meant every participant could take home a sensory bag filled with noise‑canceling headphones, fidgets, and other tools to keep building healthy emotional skills long after the program ended.

We’re so proud of the Club teens who completed SMART Moves: Emotional Wellness last week! Over two weeks, they learned practical ways to handle strong emotions, everything from grounding with their senses to using slime and body scans to calm their minds and bodies. Check out their favorite coping skills!

Earlier this month, we met with Crossroads Youth & Family Services, Inc., Pioneer Library System, Cleveland County Health Department Birth Partners and Child Guidance, J.D. McCarty Center, Norman Public Schools - Baby Steps, Oklahoma Complete Health and Oklahoma Health Care Authority Sooner Select for a Family Resource/Bringing Up Babies Advisory Committee meeting. These gatherings give partnering agencies a chance to connect, collaborate, and share ideas on how to better support families in our community. As a fun team activity, we also decorated biodegradable flower pots for families participating in Bringing Up Babies!

As part of our family resource model, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to better support and advocate for our community. One of those ways is through our Community Needs Assessment Survey.

In past years, we’ve received valuable feedback and ideas that have helped shape our programs and resources to better meet the needs of local families.

We’d love to hear from you this year! Please take a moment to complete the survey using the link below (available in English and Spanish). Every voice matters, and all are welcome!
