Join us for prenatal yoga 🧘‍♀️💛

Our Prenatal Yoga is back on the schedule for the Fall and is now welcoming Moms who are recovering from childbirth! Join us every Thursday at 5:15pm. Open to members (included in your membership) and non-members ($20 per class).

Pre & Post-natal Yoga is designed specifically for pregnant and post-partum women. This gentle yoga class will focus on breathing, alignment and safe and effective poses you can continue to do through all stages of pregnancy and during post-partum recovery.

Excited to be a part of this program again for mamas. I will be sharing yoga & infant massage.

Pregnancy and delivery is one of the most amazing experiences a woman’s body will go through in life, but it also takes a toll. Exercising after delivery is one of the best things a mother can do for her mental and physical health. Benefits of postpartum exercise include:

*Decreased risk of postpartum depression
*Improved sleep
*Boost in energy
*Weight loss
*Stronger core muscles
*Decreased stress levels
*Improved urinary incontinence

In our 4-week program designed for postpartum mothers and their babies, we focus on common issues women will experience after giving birth. Each weekly class will consist of a walk around the track, workout, and discussion of postpartum issues. Workouts will be led by a certified group exercise instructor and will target the core, pelvic floor, and upper body muscles. Strollers are welcome on the track! In addition, the program will provide group support for moms and their babies.

NEW CLASS ALERT! We are proud to announce that we are adding Prenatal Yoga to our Group Exercise Schedule! Class will be held every other Thursday beginning December 8th from 5:15-6:15pm! It is open to members and non-members.

Non-members, please email Samantha McCarthy at smccarthy@cedardale-health.net to register for class. There is a $20 fee.

Prenatal Yoga is designed specifically for new moms to-be. This type of yoga, will focus on breathing, alignment and safe and effective poses you can continue to do through all stages of pregnancy. It is a form of gentle yoga that is designed to complement the growing needs of a pregnant body during all three trimesters. The focus is on restorative poses that keep you safe while practicing movement, stretching, deep breathing, and mental centering.

Grief Healing Circle

We all feel & experience grief differently but the one constant is that it’s unpleasant, it hurts & it causes us to feel raw, prickly & vulnerable. This is a community to come together in a sacred space to feel held, nurtured & supported.
What you can prepare for in this 75 minute experience is guided breath work, gentle yoga, soul talk, and journaling, all in a confidential circle. To end, we will cocoon in a restorative yoga pose for rest, relaxation & integration. Hands on massage for grounding & extra care will complete our time together.

All are welcome in these circles, come as you are. Big grief and small grief. Light grief and heavy grief. Old grief or new grief. This is a time for you to deepen your relationship with yourself, soften, surrender & emerge feeling lighter, freer & more uplifted. Taking time to be present with your grief without a need to fix it. We need to be witnessed & heard so we can heal.

💙 October is miscarriage awareness month & a time to honor children who have died. I work closely with women & families who deal with this heartache & deep grief often so I want to support them more in these sacred circles.

Just have a baby and looking to get back into exercise again? Then join our Fit Mom Wellness Program!

In our 8-week program designed for postpartum mothers and their babies, we focus on common issues women will experience after giving birth. Fit Mom Wellness Program is designed for new moms and their infants up to 9 months of age. We ask that the new mom's are cleared to exercise by their physician. The program is open to members and non-members.

I encourage all of my mamas to consult a pelvic floor specialist Core Essence Pelvic Floor Therapy and Bodywork with Meghan is my suggestion.

It took me four years after my second birth to do my work, but it was a huge benefit to my overall well-being.

I don’t know the origin of this image, but what a beautiful depiction of how the pelvic floor provides us support. Full range of motion of the pelvic floor is essential to function. Often pelvic floor dysfunction is due to increased tension in this muscle group.

Childbirth is a physiological event that requires elongation and stretching of these muscles. Consulting a pelvic floor therapist prior to childbirth can help prepare you and these muscles for birth as well as set you up for a better recovery.
