A Prayerful Reflection for Independence Day 🕊️
From Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark
On this Fourth of July, we give thanks to God for the blessings of freedom, faith, and family. As we remember the sacrifices of those who came before us, we also pause to pray for peace, unity, and a deeper respect for the dignity of every human life.
At our Catholic cemeteries, we honor the memory of veterans, immigrants, pioneers, and loved ones—men and women whose lives helped build this nation. Their stories live on in prayer, in remembrance, and in Christ’s eternal promise.
📖 “For you were called for freedom, brothers. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather, serve one another through love.”
— Galatians 5:13 (NABRE)
May we always use our freedom to serve others, pursue justice, and seek the peace that only God can give.
🙏 Wishing you and your families a safe, reflective, and blessed Independence Day. www.rcancem.org
