Shout out and many thanks to our wonderful nurse, Lisa! She wears so many hats—too many to count. Lisa is helping everyone, every day and in every department. She has 30+ years of experience as a nurse, Born and raised in Georgia, she's a true Georgia peach. For the last 15 years, she has been living in South Carolina with her 3 fur babies. Lisa has two daughters and 3 grand babies. Loves gardening and vacations in the mountains. She is a true asset to the community, and we are lucky that she has picked to be a part of Brookdale North Augusta's team. Thank you, Lisa, for all that you do. You touch so many lives every day, and your never ending kindness warms the heart of each person you come in contact with. Lisa does an amazing job balancing all the incredible work she does. The new game that is sweeping the community is Garbage! Dominos has taken a back seat to this new game. Everyone is watching and learning how to play. Even our Executive Director is loving this game so much that he downloaded it to his phone. Someone has to make sure they don't cheat. The rules are that Kings and Queens are garbage, and Jacks and Jokers are wild. This is fun for all and is catching on quickly.

We held a drive-in movie inside. One of our residents' granddaughters treated the community to a drive-in movie. They enjoyed popcorn, candy and cupcakes and a good movie. The movie was "Book Club" with Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Andy Garcia, Don Johnson, Craig T. Nelson and Richard Dreyfuss. A great cast and a good story. Having the right tools to do a project always makes things easy and so much fun to do. We found markers that have just the right tip to do calligraphy with. We practiced writing the alphabet to build our confidence. Not bad for the first time trying calligraphy. We need more practice, but we will do this again.
