🥧 Happy Pi Day! (3.14)🥧

Today celebrates the mathematical constant Pi, which represents the relationship between a circle’s circumference and its diameter. While it’s a fun day for math lovers (and pie lovers!), it’s also a reminder that learning and curiosity are lifelong processes.

Taking time to engage your mind, whether through learning something new, solving problems, or exploring interests can be one way people nurture overall well-being and mental stimulation.

However you celebrate, we hope your day includes a little curiosity and maybe a slice of pie. 🥧

Burnout prevention often involves creating sustainable habits that support balance, rest, and emotional well-being.

Some strategies people often explore include:

🌱 Taking regular breaks during demanding tasks
🌱 Setting boundaries and realistic expectations of yourself around work and personal time
🌱 Prioritizing sleep and rest
🌱 Connecting with supportive people
🌱 Engaging in activities that restore energy and enjoyment
🌱 Noticing early signs of stress and fatigue
🌱 Reflecting on your own personal values and engaging in behaviors that support those values

Everyone’s needs and circumstances are different, and what helps one person may look different for another. Learning about how you individually experience stress and burnout can be a helpful part of caring for overall well-being.

Burnout doesn’t always appear suddenly. Often it develops gradually as ongoing stress builds over time.

Some common signs of burnout can include:

🔹 Constant exhaustion, fatigue, or low energy
🔹 Difficulty concentrating or staying focused
🔹 Feeling irritable or emotionally numb
🔹 Reduced motivation or productivity
🔹 Increased frustration
🔹 Changes in sleep or appetite
🔹 Feeling disconnected from work, relationships, or activities you used to enjoy

Recognizing these signs early can help people better understand what they may be experiencing.

Many people experience burnout at different points in life, particularly when juggling multiple responsibilities.

Burnout is more than just feeling tired after a long day. It’s a state of chronic physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that can develop when stress continues for long periods without enough rest or support.

Burnout often occurs in work environments, caregiving roles, parenting, and other high-responsibility areas of life.
Over time, ongoing stress can lead to feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and depleted.

People experiencing burnout may notice:
• Feeling drained most of the time
• Losing motivation or enthusiasm
• Feeling less effective in daily tasks
• Emotional distance from work or responsibilities

Burnout is increasingly common in today’s fast-paced world, and learning about it can be an important step toward recognizing when support may be helpful.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is a reminder that inclusion happens in everyday moments — in our schools, community spaces, events, and conversations. True accessibility means designing environments where everyone can participate fully, not as an afterthought, but from the start.

This month, consider sharing resources on disability inclusion, learning about universal design, and normalizing conversations around accommodations and support. When we intentionally create accessible spaces, we strengthen our entire community.

At OakHeart, we are committed to advancing belonging and equitable opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities — this month and every month. 💚

According to the CDC, roughly 1 in 6 children in the U.S. has a developmental disability. This is a powerful reminder that disability is common and deeply relevant — including in our workplaces.

Inclusive workplaces don’t just “accommodate” — they proactively design systems that support different ways of thinking, learning, and communicating. When organizations examine their norms and structures, they create environments where everyone can contribute and succeed.

Inclusion strengthens teams, communities, and outcomes for all. 💚

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is about more than awareness — it’s about inclusion, accessibility, and disability rights. Established in 1987, this observance calls on all of us to build communities where people with developmental disabilities experience true belonging and equitable opportunity.

Disability is not rare — and it is often invisible. Creating inclusive systems means examining the policies, environments, and assumptions that may unintentionally exclude disabled individuals.

At OakHeart, we believe inclusion is everyone’s responsibility — and it starts with understanding and action. 💚

You don’t have to love your body every day.
But you can choose how you treat it—with patience, curiosity, and care.
Small, consistent shifts in self-talk can change the relationship over time.

Your body does more than exist—it adapts, heals, and carries you through your life.
Today, try naming one thing your body allows you to do.
