Muscle Strength Matters for Senior Women Longevity.

University at Buffalo researcher report that among women aged 63 and older, higher muscle strength—as determined by grip strength and chair-stand performance—is linked to a lower risk of death in the following eight years after adjusting for aerobic activity, inflammation, and cardiovascular fitness. The American Cancer Society reports that colorectal cancer is becoming more common in adults under age 50 and is the leading cancer killer of adults in this age group.
