Coos Health and Wellness: Home Visiting

Coos Health and Wellness: Home Visiting Our purpose is to optimize childhood outcomes for you and your family through: education, support, and referrals to community services.

Home visiting services are made up of two programs: Babies First, and CaCoon. Babies First program uses the Parents As Teachers curriculum. A Public Health Nurse or Parent Educator will help you with the following:

* Helping you support your child's growth & development.
* Serve as your personal parenting coach to strengthen and expand your parenting skills.
* Provide periodic developmental screenings for your child including: social/emotional, gross and fine motor, problem solving and communication development; height and weight monitoring; hearing, vision, dental, and autism screenings.
* This program is from birth to 5 years of age. CaCoon program stands for Care Coordination and is designed for children (birth to 21 years) with special needs and their families. The goal is to:

* Become as independent as possible in caring for special needs children.
* Access appropriate resources and services to best meet your child's unique needs.
* Identify ways to maximize your child's potential at home, school, and as part of the community.
