At Synergy, many of our public health partners and clients are important actors in helping to prevent cancer across the country and the globe. We work with offices including the National Cancer Institute, the HHS Office on Women’s Health, and National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to create content and facilitate programs that help change health behavior and prevent cancer.

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week begins today. This year’s theme, “Break the Silence, Embrace Recovery: Addressing Eating Disorders in Midlife,” aims to support women navigating eating disorders in their forties, fifties, and sixties and shed light on the stigma of eating disorders during this unique stage of life.

🎉 We’re excited to congratulate our Junior Associate, Nathalie Akbari, for earning her Master of Science in Public Health degree this past December! Nathalie received her MSPH in Health Education and Health Communication from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Healthalong with a certificate in Public Health Advocacy.

Nathalie joined the Synergy Communications and Policy Analysis team last May and is excited to continue her work on our Office on Women's Health - U.S. Department of Health and Human Services projects and more.

Synergy representation at the Bloomberg American Health Summit 2024! ⭐

Elaine McCarthy, Vice President, Policy Analysis and Strategic Communications, and Izabelle Wensley, Associate, Policy Analysis and Strategic Communications, attended the Bloomberg American Health Summit 2024 in Washington, DC.

📝 This event brought together public health practitioners, policymakers, community organizations, and Bloomberg Fellows to explore strategies to ground public health solutions in evidence and forge connections to advance policies to improve health.

👩‍🎓 Izabelle is a Bloomberg American Health Initiative Fellow earning her M.P.H. at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

We’re proud to support the 21st CCLC NTAC in launching the Professional Learning Portal—an exciting new resource for out-of-schooltime professionals! This growing catalog of free e-learning modules covers key topics such as learning recovery, student behavior, leadership, and more.

Synergy’s team worked closely with the U.S. Department of Education to create this platform, supporting 21st CCLC professionals with tools to enhance their skills and improve outcomes for students and families. We’re excited to see how this platform helps professionals excel in their roles!
