The Connecticut Storytelling Center hosts an annual event called "Tellebration," an international celebration of story. As part of this event, Storyteller, Jennifer Munro presented a set of engaging and entertaining stories. Her stories were based her own life experiences and memories from holidays with her family. This resonated well with our Members who have their own "Share Your Story" monthly meeting where they share similar life stories!

We took a trip to the New Britain Museum of American Art to tour the Norman Rockwell Exhibit. Our guide led us through with fascinating stories about his personal life and career. We saw his process of using models to bring his art to life. After a rough sketch, he would paint what would become the covers of The Post magazine. One of our Members, David W., shared anecdotes about his personal experience with Mr. Rockwell. David's father worked for The Post and David had the opportunity to meet him as a young boy. His father was even gifted a hand-written card by Norman Rockwell when David was born!

Teri is a photographer who loves to travel. Her Member Presentation focused on one of her many adventures back in 2006 when Teri traveled to Mongolia with the International Snow Leopard Trust to document their community-based conservation program in remote areas. Staying with nomadic herder families in their gers (yurts), Teri traveled in Russian jeeps to find the participant communities. In a captivating and humorous presentation, Teri brought us along her adventure and talked about how this unique program helps protect the endangered Snow Leopard, raises a family's income as much as 40%, and empowers women. She shared stories about these extraordinary women and life in this amazing country to a fully packed Auditorium.
