Maternal health progress didn’t happen by accident — it happened because women demanded better care, better research, and better outcomes.

That demand isn't over. Black mothers still face disproportionate risks, and perinatal mental health challenges too often go unseen and untreated.

This April, two conferences take up the mantle and continue the fight for progress in maternal health.
📅 The Black Maternal Health Conference on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and
📅Perinatal Mental Health Conference on Wednesday, April 22, 2026

Both conferences bring together professionals, advocates, and community leaders to strengthen care, center equity, and build systems that truly support women from pregnancy through postpartum.

Because when we invest in maternal health — physically and emotionally — we’re shaping the history for future generations.

Black History Month is a time to honor legacy, resilience, and care passed down through generations.

Breastfeeding has long been part of Black history—rooted in community and survival. Black women have long been kept out of the breastfeeding conversations.

Centering Black voices, stories, and lived experiences is essential to breastfeeding justice. This month, we honor the past, uplift the present, and continue working toward a future where Black families are supported, informed, and empowered to make the feeding choices that are right for them. 💖 Breastfeeding supports more than baby—it supports heart health, too.

During American Heart Month, we’re highlighting research that shows people who breastfeed may have a lower risk of hypertension, heart disease, and cardiovascular complications later in life.

Breastfeeding is not just about nourishment—it’s about long-term wellness, healing, and prevention. Supporting breastfeeding means supporting lifelong heart health for parents, too. Learn more at https://njsupportsbreastfeeding.org

“The first time someone hears about stillbirth shouldn’t be when it has happened to them.”

This reel is from our stillbirth campaign kickoff in 2023, and we’re resharing it intentionally. While the moment it captures is from the past, the reality it speaks to is still very present. Stillbirth continues to affect families every day, and too often it remains unspoken until it becomes deeply personal.

We’re sharing this again to keep awareness visible, to remind our community that education matters, and to ensure families know that resources, support, and information exist. Conversations like this save lives, reduce stigma, and help families feel less alone.

Awareness is not tied to a moment in time. It’s something we must continue to build, together.
