even though Eeyore had depression...

his friends never left him out

they never expected him to be happy while adventuring

but they loved Eeyore for who he was and never left him behind.

people who have depression still want to be included in life; it may just take a bit of creativity and understanding ❤️

Mental Illness Awareness Week (Oct 5–11) is almost here—a time to shine a light on mental health and remind everyone that support matters. With World Mental Health Day and the Anniversary of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act today, plus other important observances ahead, it’s the perfect moment to start conversations and connect with those around you.

Send this to someone you know, advocate for mental health, and help make every conversation count.

Commemorating Mental Health Month is crucial in breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness. NAMI's In Our Own Voice presentations offer a unique opportunity to gain insight into the experiences of individuals living with mental health conditions.

These free sessions, ranging from 40 to 90 minutes, feature leaders sharing their personal journeys, providing a human perspective on mental health. Attendees can engage with speakers, fostering a deeper understanding and challenging stereotypes.

By participating, you'll uncover the realities of living with a mental health condition, dispelling misconceptions and embracing the richness of individuals' lives, filled with aspirations and achievements.

To arrange a free presentation for your community in New Jersey, whether it's a class, religious group, first responders, etc reach out to ioov@naminj.org. Let's work together to promote understanding and support within the mental health community.

1)My friends at Chirp Books have put YANA as an audiobook up for $2.99. No membership required. 4/11. Probabhly a worthwhile purchase for all of my mental health friends.

2)My first novel, The Pleasure Palace, is set in a hotel in the near future where the robots make and serve your espresso, carry and unpack your luggage, and provide you a wide variety of sexual entertainment. Looking for a publisher.

2)My first non-fiction, The Wise Person's Guide to Mental Health Recovery, should be ready for a publisher later this year.

3)It is my sincere hope that my books get published (not via subsidy), and then do not end up quickly on the deep discount table.
