New research highlighted in The New York Times shows a promising shift in youth mental health outcomes. Following the launch of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline in 2022, su***de rates among young people were about 11% below expected levels, with even greater declines in states where the hotline is more widely used.

This data underscores the real impact of accessible, immediate support and the importance of continuing to invest in resources that connect people to care when it matters most.
