One of the trends we see online is "having coffee with your yoynger self" and "inner child work," but what does all that mean?

Simply put, it's the messages of safety and security humans are (hopefully) taught through growing up. Tiny humans rely on the outside world to grow and learn. However, sometimes we don't have that privilege, and as a result don't internalize some foundational concepts. Ones that help us reregulate, build connection, and create security in our attachment styles. Learning how to self-soothe, and feel what it's like to be protected.

Therapy focused on reteaching that younger part can be exceptionally powerful, and a really beautiful way to learn how to be a bit more gentle with yourself. How to create safety, and believe that can be something meant for you. Be the person you needed when you were younger, and give yourself permission to learn support without sacrificing you. You deserve it.

What's so important about the brain body connection? An important skill to learn in therapy is to be present and aware of our wants and needs. To do that, we focus on being present in the moment to listen and feel ourselves. In order for that process to happen, we first soothe our nervous system to allow the space to create safety. Then, we can teach ourselves that even though a pattern feels familiar, based on past experiences- we can rewrite the story and create safety.

Swipe through for an example of what that means below. Sound familiar, or something you'd like support with? Reach out to book a free consultation and figure out the right fit for therapy for YOU!

Attachment has been a buzzword in mental health world- and for good reason! Understanding yourself, recognizing patterns, and an ability to communicate your needs helps foster connection. Modeling the love you want can be great, but learning how to love a partner by sharing awareness with each other makes for healthy, safe dynamics.

"Loving someone with anxious attachment doesn’t mean walking on eggshells.

It means learning how to show up in ways that make connection feel safe.

Because anxious partners don’t want more drama.

They want more security.
But when they don’t feel safe, they’ll grasp, spiral, over-communicate, or shut down. Not to manipulate — but to protect themselves from loss.

You can’t fix the past that shaped them.
But you can help build a new experience of love. One that feels steady, mutual, and safe.

Start here:
✅ Be reassuring — even if you don’t “get” the fear
✅ Stay grounded when they’re overwhelmed
✅ Communicate clearly and kindly
✅ Don’t take their triggers personally — they’re not about you

Through self-reflection and actionable steps, build the healthiest relationship of your life."
