Our nervous system needs to know we see it, we hear it, and we understand it. ❤️
Our internal selves and pattern of responses inherently feel unsafe after trauma 💜
Our brains are smart 🧠 They just need a little help to get there.
So how do we do this?
▫️Find the sensation in your body
▫️Name the emotion and location
▫️Send compassion to that place through breath, gentle touch, and intention
▫️Regulate using your five senses: surround yourself with pleasant, mild scents; eye-catching colors; quiet music; soft textures; and familiar tastes.
And watch as you come home….to yourself 🩷
