MEET OUR AUDIOLOGIST!! Angela Hissner, MA, CCC-A has been practicing audiology in Northeast Ohio for over 26 years since graduating from the University of Akron with her Master’s degree. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and member of the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA) where she holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A).

Angie has worked primarily in medical settings at ENT offices throughout her career. Angie’s background and experience brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and clinical excellence to Ohio Audiology Associates. She is looking forward to assisting new and former patients on their hearing journey to help improve their quality of life and overall well-being.

Ms. Hissner enjoys spending time with her 3 children and their dogs. She can be seen cheering on the Buckeyes and the Browns, as well as spending time with her friends and family.

Hot, humid weather can be hard on your devices, but a few simple habits can help protect them:

• Remove them before swimming or showering
• Use a drying kit overnight to remove moisture
• Wipe them down daily with a clean, dry cloth
• Store them in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight
• Avoid wearing them while using hair spray, sunscreen, or bug spray
• Be careful when removing hats or sunglasses
• If you sweat heavily, consider using a sweatband to keep moisture away

Having trouble with your hearing aids? Before scheduling a repair, try these simple steps to get them working again:

- Check if they’re turned on
- Ensure they’re fully charged (or replace the battery)
- Adjust the volume properly
- Clean off any dirt, earwax, or debris blocking sound

If your hearing aid uses disposable batteries, inspect for corrosion in the battery compartment. Also, check for any damage to the shell. Experiencing feedback or whistling? Make sure your hearing aids are fitted correctly in your ear and set to the right settings.
