✨ One of the fastest & most God-divined births I’ve ever witnessed ✨

Koren & Kevin first reached out and we instantly clicked. Though they didn’t want to undervalue my doula work, I was honored to step in as their birth photographer & stayed very connected to them as we approached the big day!
When their doula couldn’t make it due to supporting another mommy and had no backup available, I rushed to the hospital ready to come in doing double duty lol.

I barely had time to put my lens on—helping with positioning one minute and holding a leg the next. Transition went from 6cm to complete in about 30 minutes, and with only four pushes, she brought her baby earthside exactly as she hoped.

Through it all, they worshipped God—scripture, prayer, and praise carrying them through labor, birth, and postpartum. I wish I caught their homemade encouragement notes they had put out on the bed! And in true divine timing, the midwife who caught her baby turned out to be someone she knew from Bible study. Everyone who needed to be there was there.

When Quierra first reached out to me, she shared how her last birth left her longing for something different — a birth rooted in knowledge, choice, and holistic care. With her husband Kevin by her side (shoutout to him — an incredible chef and even more incredible partner & provider), they decided to take this journey with me as their doula.

This was Kevin’s first biological child, though he’s already been such a loving stepfather. I watched him go from a little anxious at first to showing up with openness, curiosity, and commitment at every prenatal. By the time we entered the birth space, he wasn’t just prepared — he caught his own baby with confidence and joy.

Together, they navigated pregnancy after loss, carrying both the weight of grief and the hope of new life. And Quierra — in all her quiet strength — stood firm on the birth she envisioned. No epidural. No pain relief medicine at all! No continuous monitoring. Just peace, love, and the power of her own voice.

What stood out most was the way they leaned on each other with such grace and trust. Their love and connection were the anchor of this birth — they moved in rhythm, supported one another impeccably, and created the safe, powerful space their baby deserved to be welcomed into.

It was everything she dreamed of and more — a birth that was theirs. And it was such an honor to be trusted to guide and witness it all. 💜

It wants you underprepared, chasing trends, and blaming the wrong people when things go sideways. That’s why doulas get scapegoated while OBs making 6x more walk away untouched.Families keep planning baby showers instead of postpartum care. Birthing people keep being told “healthy mom, healthy baby” is enough. And boundaries keep being ignored because someone’s feelings might get hurt.But here’s the reality: p**p is embarrassing. Hemorrhage is deadly. Policy isn’t law. And doulas aren’t wannabe nurses — we’re the connection holding the line when the system fails to.It’s 2025. ✨🌸 What an unforgettable day at the Golden Bow Breastfeeding Walk! 🌸✨

With over 300 moms registered, the event was filled with connection, learning, and celebration alongside doulas, midwives, pelvic floor therapists, and so many incredible community resources. 💜🍼 It was such a joy sharing space, conversations, and smiles with you all.

A huge congratulations on another year of such an impactful and fun event — and thank you for allowing me to be part of it this year. 🙏

Yesterday’s Recap 🍪🥛💜
Grateful to have been part of the National Black Doula Association’s Annual Black Breastfeeding Celebration Milk & Cookies event 🍼🍪✨. I loved sharing in such a beautiful space that celebrated families (even in the rain) , and it filled my heart to connect with so many beautiful people and trusted resources within our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, participated in my table’s activities and supported my very first mini market photo session. Thank you for the lovely moments!

We Listen & We Don’t Judge Still orrr nooo 🫣 🫠 After birth support, there’s a sacred doula ritual many don’t talk about… and it usually involves something greasy, crunchy, and open past midnight.⁣You gave birth to a whole human in front of me… and now it’s my turn for a greasy delivery of my own. 🍗🌮💅🏾⁣Supporting a laboring person for hours (or days) is intense — emotionally, physically, spiritually — and while I know a leafy green smoothie would technically be better… my go-to post-birth refuels are always Wingstop, Taco Bell, or whatever drive-thru is still open at that ungodly hour.⁣1️⃣ Because I never have the energy to cook after attending a birth because… yea lol2️⃣ Because birth rarely happens on a 9 to 5 schedule3️⃣ And because greasy food somehow still hits even after witnessing some of the most stomach-turning moments 😅⁣That’s the beauty of this work. Holding space, holding legs, holding tears… and then holding a 10-piece combo with gratitude.⁣Birth is sacred. So is rest. So is nourishment — even if it comes in a cardboard box with extra sauce.⁣Fellow birthworkers: what’s your post-birth guilty pleasure meal? 👀👇

Okay yeah, I walked in and the cervix dilated like it had somewhere to BE…👀 But let’s be real:They did the yoga, the perineal massages, the yoga, the prep —THEY DID THE HARD WORKand they had me as their doula (small flex nunnnnnin crazyyyy) ✨Teamwork makes the birth work.Now….WISH MY BEAUTIFUL CLIENTS A SAFE LOVE FILLED SUPPORTED RECOVERY (and yes baby is soooo cute!) Oh and shout out to the ONE nurse that wasn’t mean mugging me & told me to get that content baby!!! I hope both sides of your pillow are cold at all times snooks🥶

When your prenatal feels more like a love-filled party than a class, you’re exactly where you need to be. 💕🫶🏾

From labor Jenga to trying out birthing positions, breathing techniques, and talking through every stage of labor — the oxytocin was flowing before labor even started.

We laughed, we learned, and we created space for both parents and their mamas to feel connected, empowered, and emotionally ready for what’s to come. That’s what intentional, community-rooted birth support looks like.

As a doula, I don’t just show up to educate — I show up to hold space, build trust, and help families walk into birth informed, affirmed, and connected. Because when our people feel safe and seen, birth transforms.

So honored to walk this path with clients who show up ready to learn, vibe, and love out loud — and bring their people with them. 💗
