Sciatic Pain Explained — What’s Really Going On?
That sharp, burning, or shooting pain traveling from your low back into your hip, glute, or down your leg isn’t random — it’s usually your sciatic nerve telling you something is off.
This illustration shows the path of the sciatic nerve and the most common trouble spots:
• Disc bulges or degeneration
• Spinal stenosis
• Tight or overactive piriformis muscle
• Hamstring tightness
• Poor spinal or pelvic mechanics
👉 Sciatica isn’t just a “back problem.” It’s often a movement, muscle, and nerve issue combined.
What can help?
✔ Chiropractic adjustments to improve spinal and pelvic motion
✔ Stretching for piriformis, hamstrings, and hips
✔ Strengthening the core and glutes
✔ Posture and ergonomic corrections
✔ Soft tissue work and mobility exercises
✔ Staying active (movement heals — rest alone doesn’t)
The key is addressing the cause, not just chasing the pain.
If sciatic pain is slowing you down, getting assessed early can make all the difference.
